Questions? Bean Has Answers!

One of our favorite features in the IBKC book is Charlene's "Dear Butterbean" advice column. In these segments, Charlene answers questions from cats and kittens on topics such as cat manners and etiquette, grooming, health and hygiene.

Charlene and I had so much fun writing these sections together, we though we might try it on the blog, too.

So, does your cat or kitten have a question for Bean?  If so, email them to us HERE and please put "Dear Butterbean" in the subject line.   We look forward to your questions, and Charlene looks forward to sharing her wisdom.  She loves telling everybody what to do.   : )

  1. Dear Lady Butterbean,

I am a 4.5 year old Maine Coon Cat. I weigh 7.5 lbs and feel great. The vet (boooo) says I'm fine, but my human still worries I am too small. My human is always feeling my ribs and trying to get me to eat more, but I eat to live. I love playing and running up and down the stairs, hunting my brother, and killing bugs. What do i tell my human?

  2. Dear Charlene,

I'm a 9 year old orange and white tabby cat. I can't seem to convey to my senior human mom what I want. I stare at her and try to telepathically get my point across, but she doesn't get it. When she ignores me I give her a little love nip, but she doesn't like that. What can I do to get my point across?

  3. My favorite part of the book was the two questions to Charlene about climbing things, especially the "Anonymous" one...

  4. We have lots of questions here, we'll think of something to send Herself! I got the book for the beautiful kitten pictures, but this was fun too...

  5. Oh, I'm so glad the Dear Butterbean will be a part of the blog. As I was reading the book, I thought about suggesting. I should have known that Charlene, being so wise, was already on top of it.

  6. This is a great idea for the blog! I will definitely be reading Charlene's wisdom.

  7. Looooooooooooove the book and love the Dear Mrs Butterbean column! Great job to both of you!

  8. Just got my book in today's mail. It was a fun read with oodles of wonderful pics (of course). I'm going to try making one of those blankies, too.
