It Takes More Than That to Impress This Wee Cat

The tree is up and fully decorated and I don't think Wylla could possibly care less.  She was a little curious when I was hanging some garlands of glittered beads, and she tried to grab the end of the strand   when I dropped it on the floor, but that's where her curiosity ended.  She has not made any attempts to play with anything on the tree, climb the tree, or chew on any branches.   She's well aware of its giant, sparkly presence in the living room, but it is of no interest to her. Maybe it takes much more to impress a kitten who has seen so much in her little life.

Charlene has never had much interest in the tree, but does enjoy watching me decorate.  She spent the day on the couch watching me unpack all the boxes and hang every shiny thing on the tree.

She did seem to take note of the bird ornaments and the ornaments that look like cat toys, but did not put a paw on any of them.

The other night, we had a discussion about Santa's naughty and nice list.  Perhaps, they listened - they have been very good kittens.

  1. I have to say I'm a little disappointed in Wylla. Doesn't she know that for her first Christmas it's her job to cause trouble and paw at the decorations? Maybe she's waiting for you to turn your back before investigating. Or you could be right and she's already done so much and been to so many places the tree holds no curiosity for her. I wonder if things will change once there are presents around the tree.

  2. Wylla looks so pretty posing next to the Christmas tree! Is there a seasonal palette that doesn't match her gorgeous coloring? And Charlene is looking lovely as always!

I wish my cats would be uninterested in the tree. Between Holly trying to chew the branches and Figaro thinking it's just another cat tree, it seems I'm always shooing someone away from there.

  4. Wylla and Beanie must have been listening to you to be so good! They need to stay that way so we can get more beautiful pictures like these!

  5. Laurie, do you think she's taking her cues from Bean? Charlene isn't interested, so she's not interested, either...

  7. Wylla has clearly decided the tree serves primarily as a background for beautiful photos of her in all her regal floofiness. Smart kitty! And Charlene looks so dignified, as always. I'm glad the tree is safe (thus far) -- but it still would have been fun to have Wylla be naughty and climb up in it. I think she'd look even cuter IN the tree than she does NEXT to the tree!

  9. Oh, I don't know...I think at least one shot of Wylla peeking out of the tree would be great!

  10. Such good girls :) But what I found remarkable is that Wylla seems to be taking modeling sessions from Bean just look at her last picture - gorgeous!

  11. Hey, when you've seen Castle Crag, a Christmas tree is strictly "pffft." ;)

  13. If you could get the two girls to pose together in front of the tree, you'd have the perfect Christmas card! Mary
