Report from the Tower

Much to my surprise, Bean spends far more time on their kitty tower than Wylla does.  You can  frequently find her on the third tier,  where she looks out the window surveying the world below, or naps.   She spends so much time on the tower, she's taken on a subtle "new carpet" smell.

Wylla does use the tower for scratching, and will climb to the top for safety when the girls are chasing each other, but it's rare to see her hanging out there on her own.   If Wylla wants to perch, she'll find herself a human.

Even though Wylla doesn't use it as much as I thought she might, it was worth the investment for Bean alone.  She enjoys her tower time.

  1. My cat, Olivia, loves her tower. It is a big part of her daily routine.

  3. I can see why Bean might have taken to it--she is the Queen after all! You're making me wonder whether I need to finally cave and get a tower for my two kitties...just to see which one takes it as her/his own!

  4. Nothing like a high comfy perch where one may survey one's realm. Carry on, Queen Beanie, Carry on!

  5. *snickers* new carpet smell. Our tower is part of our girl Daltrey's routine too. After a dinner of wet noms, she goes on a running frenzy around the house which ends with her climbing at lightning speed to the top of her tower.

she hadn't been feeling so well over the last two weeks, and she did her little tower climb for the first time in a while last night. I was so happy to see her "back". Love, Darin

  6. I know some folks really don't care for towers/cat trees but they are a great investment - cats seem to be crazy for them. Ours live in their 6-foot, 6-layer one and have great pleasure in climbing and playing on it.

If you you really hate them for their look you can design and build them yourself (it's actually not so hard, there's lots of info/plans online) or buy nicer quality ones that are quite artistic. But your cats will be completely thrilled either way! :-) Note: they really love the ones with a curve - it cradles their bodies!

  7. One of my girls looooves the top of the tower. It is her preferred napping spot in the morning when we're leaving for work.

  10. Our cat tree is placed where Diva and Chloe can soak up the sunshine several hours a day. They love it!

  11. I love Wylla's head tilt & worried eyes. And Queen Bean's just exactly where she's supposed to be.

  14. hmmm...I think there may be a tower in LG's future. He has his fave furniture perches all around the house (as well as his dad's supine chest when LG is in the mood for some "planking"). What LG doesn't have is a nice tower that's for him alone. hmmm...

  15. I bought one for my feral Manx when she was 1 year old. Now she is 17 and it was the best investment for her. She adores it and its her happy place from which to observe and feel independent. I love that at 17 with arthritis she will gradually take her time to climb but can still do it on her own. She naps at the top, talks , plays and is a very happy tower cat. Hers is 6 feet tall and over the years I have taken a lot of ribbing for it but it was all worth it to make her happy
