Stepping Out With Wylla Stout - Sweater Shopping!

I stepped out yesterday with Wylla to pay a visit to Tacoma's Lucky Dog Outfitters.  They sell cat stuff too, and we needed to pick up a bag of crunchies for Charlene.

We bumped into our friend Kim while we were there, and she gave Wylla some good lovin'.

They have quite a selection of "dog" sweaters and coats, so we took a few minutes to put on a little fashion show.

First, our little model tried on this stylish squirrel sweater.

Next, a moose sweater. Not the most practical choice, but an adorable look.

Fleece is a fashion staple in the Northwest. It's soft, warm, and easy to wear.

And finally, we put our little owl in a little owl sweater.

We came home with one of these fabulous pieces from their collection.  Which one do you think we chose?

Take a guess, and we'll share the answer tomorrow!

  1. I love the owl and the color is great but it looks as if the squirrel sweater is a perfect fit and Charlene will have a squirrel to chase.

  2. Please tell me it was the moose. That little hat is toooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute. However, I imagine it might be the fleece since it's the most practical. Whatever it was, I am sure Wyllaloo will look adorable in it. :)

  3. I like the orange fleece. Fashionable but understated.

    1. I too hope it was the orange fleece. It is practical yet looks nice with her fur coloring.

  4. I like them all, but I'd assume the fleece will be the easiest to put on, wash and dry, etc. I can't imagine how much FUN it must be to take this kitty around. She's like a therapy cat for everyone! I laughed out loud at the cuteness.

  7. I'm betting the little owl since she looks so much like one on occasion. :) Either that or the fleece.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Moose hat is cute but it should be the owl!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'd love to have it be the owl, but I'm betting it was the fleece. Just a more practical choice considering your winter weather.

My knitting needles are crying out to make Wylla something special and adorable, however. That will be next on my knitting list!

  10. I think it was the squirrel. Wylla looks fabulous in all of them, but the squirrel has a certain "je ne sais quoi." :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. Oooh, I love squirrels almost as much as cats, so I am pulling for the squirrel sweater. That would just be cuteness heaven.
But seriously, how patient and good is Wylla for even trying all of these on?! Such a cutie-pie. She kills me dead.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I vote for the fleece. Easy on and off, and kitties love fleece.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Orange is definitely Wylla's colour. I hope you chose the owl.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Wylla is thinking: "Mom, you're lucky I love you so much, or else I wouldn't put up with having to try on sweaters for your amusement!"

    ReplyDelete
  15. OMG. Wylla Stout could not be any cuter! And yet she constantly out-cutes herself, eeeeee!

    THE OWL.
(and secretly I hope you got the moose ears too.)

    1. Maybe you got BOTH the Owl AND the Squirrel because Wylla is SO darn cute in them both!!

      Delete
  16. I'm betting on the fleece, although I think she should have them all.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Moose Antlers!!!! No, you probably took the fleece. But wouldn't a fleece with an owl on it look cute?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I hope it was the moose, but bet it was the fleece.

    ReplyDelete
  19. It should be illegal to be this cute

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm going with the fleece - all the stylin' cats are wearing them these days.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The moose is too cute for words - but I would imagine that it was the fleece - the orange accentuates the colors in her coat.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The owl has a little skirtlike bottom. Good gosh that's too cute. But impractical for rainy/snowy weather. I do love the squirrel, and it makes sense, but orange is her color so I'll go with the practical choice; fleece.

    ReplyDelete
  23. i like the squirrel sweater, but my heart goes to the owl sweater especially it's in the home colors of the San Francisco Giants.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Waving to the other SF kitty-loving person *hi!* :)

      Delete
    2. Also waving as a former SF Bay Area resident (one whose brother absolutely loved his Giants).

      Delete
  24. I'm also going with the fleece (although that moose hat is something else).

    ReplyDelete
  25. That moose sweater is adorable! I can just imagine Wylla saying, "Just wait 'til we get home, Mom--I'll get you back for this!"

I'll have to echo the folks who voted for the fleece, though I too hope it was the moose.

    ReplyDelete
  26. She looks absolutely adorable in all the outfits but I think she looks most comfortable in the fleece. Plus, I think fleece is a good choice for Seattle weather and I agree with the others that it looks like it'd be easier to take off/on. Oh, and of course easiest to care for since it's washable.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm guessing fleece because as you say, fleece is a staple in the NW. I'm hoping for Squirrel though!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I bet it's the fleece!! But the owl is super cute also....Wylla looks great in anything!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm guessing the squirrel! Wylla just looks so Fall-ish and jaunty in it!

Although Wylla in that moose sweater is CRAZY cute :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I was hoping to see an owl sweater and there it is but I think she looks great in the squirrel sweater colors.

    ReplyDelete
  31. OMG LOL Wylla you are so very very cute. I'm guessing the fleece, but the squirrel would be great too

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm going with the Squirrel, because it's my favorite on her :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Fleece it is (or perhaps isn't)!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think it's the squirrel sweater. She looks so 'fashion forward' in it!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh my gosh, the moose hood is so cute! I am guessing you got the fleece, though. Looks like Wylla's range of motion would be good in it, plus fleece is easy to clean. And orange is a great color on her!

Lucky Dog is right on my drive to work but I didn't realize they have cat stuff too. I'll have to pop in sometime!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I vote fleece--most comfortable against her coat.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Aaagghhhh, I think I just died at the moose costume! I can't stand it!! And doesn't she ever get tired of her never-ending adventures, clothes, guests, photo ops, trips, etc etc?? She's amazing.

    1. agreed...ded of cute with those antlers, and she's such a good traveler!

  38. I think it's the fleece.

I just adopted a Devon Rex cat from the shelter, I might have to get her a sweater. I think she'd look ravishing in that squirrel one!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I love the owl sweater but I think the fleece is cute, too! And if you got the fleece, you could sew a little Jack o' Lantern face on the back for Halloween!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I have to go with the fleece...she is so cute in all of them but fleece is practical....

    ReplyDelete
  41. I suppose I'll go with squirrel, but my gosh she's so cute in all of them, how did you even decide?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Fleece is practical, but I liked the moose one.

So are you going to dress her up for Halloween like you did to Butterbean a few times? (I love her devil costume BTW.)

    ReplyDelete
  43. The owl or the squirrel, please say the owl or the squirrel.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Wylla is all style-a in fleece!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I would have left with the fleece one but I wouldn't blame you if you chose the owl. Adorable, she is. Deb

    ReplyDelete
  46. Either the fleece or the owl! The fleece is practical but the owl is toooo cute. Orange is Wylla's colour! She looks adorable modelling :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. As Boris and Natasha would say, Moose and Squirrel.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'd like for the choice to be the owl, but I'm going to go with the guess of fleece.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hmm. I really like the squirrel sweater best but whatever it is, holy cuteness! ♥

    ReplyDelete
  50. I am guessing the owl, although I like the fleece.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I vote for fleece...great colour and it adds a bit of bulk to her little frame. All are adorable of course!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Did I miss the moose and squirrel jokes?

    1. Here's one. For those who aren't familiar, it's a Rocky & Bullwinkle allusion. One has to be of a certain age, which I am. :-)

    2. Am also of a certain age, and therefore this makes me happy.

(Rocky and Bullwinkle should be required viewing for all children forever more, along with plenty other of "our" cartoons, like Pink Panther, Flintstones, Jetsons, Casper, etc., etc., etc...why did television lose the ability to do these things...

    3. Thanks. I was surprised to be first with that reference. :D

  53. They're all cute, but I'm going with the fleece. It matches her fur so nicely and is practical!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think the fleece - Wylla looks more comfortable in it, and that orange really brings out the glow in her right cheek!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I liked the owl best, but the fleece is probably more practical.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Add me to the FLEECE group!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I like the squirrel but I'm guessing the fleece.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I think you got our wee wylla the fleece one. She looks miserable in the moose one!! I can not imagine my kitties letting me put sweaters on them!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm putting money on fleece. It's just so practical. It will keep her snuggest and warmest.

I'm with these guys. The orange fleece fits her the best and looks like it would keep her warmer than the other choices. Plus, she looks good in that color. O.K., I'll admit it, she probably looks good in any color!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I just love the squirrel sweater, but as a former Northwesterner, I'll agree that fleece might be more practical and fit in with the fashion trends I recall from my last visit back home.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Oooooh, Wylla was *wearing* that fleece! I'm going with that one.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I say fleece!
Um, I have a kitten that is 16 weeks old and weighs about a pound and a half. She has a cleft palate and can't put on weight and it will be cool soon and we're looking for a coat/sweater for her, too. Even the extra small sizes don't fit. Do y'all have any ideas? (She's due for surgery by the end of the year- we're waiting until her esophagus is big enough for the tube during the surgery.)

    1. Wylla has coats and sweaters because she's out in the world so much. At home, we just make sure she has a warm spot to curl up. We use a "Snuggle Safe" which is a microwavable disc that stays warm for 8 hours or so. I like it because it isn't electric, so there are no cords to worry about. ttp://www.arcatapet.com/item.cfm?cat=6587&source=GA-PLA0206587

    2. Thank you! I'll. e sure to look up that disc. Our girl, Mira (short for Miracle because she was found on a. Bridge over a river at three weeks of age) loves to explore outside. We think we've solved the harness issue and am looking at ferret harnesses. But, still on the look out for outerwear so she can play outside in the yard.

  64. I love owls, but that particular owl sweater looks too big for a wee kitty, and the design kind of overwhelms her. I'd vote either for the squirrel because it's so cute and fits her better, or the fleece because it looks like it's the best fit, she looks really cuddly in it, and it's practical. The moose would be more of a "special occasion" sweater, probably.

    Either squirrel or fleece. :)

The fleece just works, and Orange is the New Black as everyone knows...

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think the squirrel compliments Wylla's colors and looks like it fits nicely. It could be for "special occasions". The fleece is very practical for day-to-day wear. Looking at the comments, if you didn't get the fleece, you may have to go back for it!

    ReplyDelete
  67. She looks so adorable in the little hat.

    ReplyDelete
  68. She's totally cute in the antlers, but I think she looks rather sporty in the fleece.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I vote for the fleece for our fashion conscious young lady! Mary A

    ReplyDelete
  70. Wylla liked the squirrel sweater best.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Please let it be the owl!

    ReplyDelete
  72. OMG she looks adorable in ALL of them...the orange fleece was a surprisingly good color on her, but I am partial to the squirrel one. But they are all adorable. She is so very very cute. Glad to see you on Cheezburger btw, an incredibly cute photo of the fundraiser.

  73. as any good shopper knows... take them all! one can never have too many sweaters!

  76. Oh my gosh .... too adorable!

I love the squirrel sweater on Wee Willa.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Wee Wylla looks fab in all the sweaters. I like the owl one that you chose but PLEASE go back and buy the moose one too. It made my day! LOL.
