A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Farmers Market

Each week, we have a farmers market in our neighborhood.  It's within walking distance of our house,  so I often put Wylla on her leash, and bring her along to help with the produce shopping.

This week, as I headed down the sidewalk towards the market with Wylla perched on my shoulders, out of the corner of my eye I saw a man on a bicycle start to pass us on the street, then come to a quick stop. The rider shouted a very enthusiastic "Is that Wee Wylla??"

As it turns out, the rider was a gentlemen named Jeff, who is a big fan of the IBKC, Wylla and Charlene.

He seemed pretty excited to see Wylla in person, and it was fun for us too, because it was the very first time Wylla was ever "recognized" in public.

Thanks for making our day, Jeff!

Laurie does she make new human friends easily? Seems that she does while she is stepping out with you!

  13. So, maybe I'm behind the times asking this, but how do you avoid having fleas jump on board Wylla when you are out and about, and hitch a ride home into your house? Is the flea treatment they put on cats strong enough that this does not happen?? I once sent my cats to stay over a weekend with a friend while I traveled, and they came home infested with fleas from her dogs and I had to bathe them and bomb my house before it was over... they were not treated with Frontline or anything of course...

  17. Truly a special day for Wylla's fan!

She is quite gracious when she meets new people. Charlene brought her up wonderfully to meet their public.

  19. If I ever met Wylla Stout in person I would probably scream & cry like the girls in the audience when the Beatles played Ed Sullivan.
