How to Make Friends and Influence Kittens

Mr and Mrs Kitten Whisperer (my folks) arrived for a visit this week.  To help speed up the friend-making process up a bit, my dad put a dab of Wylla's favorite treat on his nose.

It worked.

Wylla now associates Dad with treats, so if he holds her hand out to her, she expects a handout.

  11. Ah, so sweet. Grandpa is one smart guy. :-)

We just had house guests for the first time since LG adopted us. He's been very shy around company, and I had my sister-in-law feed him some treats at "snack time" to try and break the ice. He remained skittish for the duration of the visit, and I set up his meals in the dining room so he could eat in seclusion instead of his usual spot in the kitchen. Poor kit-kat. He did let my nephew pet him a few times, so there's that. He also holed up in his walk-in closet man-cave once or twice. Now that we have the house back to ourselves, LG's feeling more like his snuggly, rubby little self. Maybe my sis-in-law should have put some canned cat food on her face. I'll have to tell her that. :-)

  12. Yes, where are Nigel and Mimsey???
I do hope the treat on Kitten Whispher's nose did not stink too much! Me thinks there is a little bit of Maine Coon kitten in Wylla, floof excluded, since they learn FAST.
One treat, one cuddle - after that, payment up front, dude!
