Recovery

The vet gave Wylla some pretty strong drugs to keep her calm and pain-free.  She spent the morning in her basket yesterday, and Bean kept a close watch.

She tried to play a little later that day, but mostly she just slumped about the house - wanting to be near us, but not having the energy to really interact.

She woke me with her purrs this morning, and it seems she's feeling better today.   She's not 100%, but improving, for sure.

  2. "Do you HAVE to take so many pictures of me, Mom? I just want to stay quiet and get well!"

  3. Love the second to last photo...
Bean is giving us the *look*, "Don't mess with my little sister!"

Love that those two have become the best of friends and that Wee Wylla is feeling better!

  5. Aw, look at Beanie keeping an eye on Wylla. Bean is such a special girl, truly a little goddess among cats.

Sorry that you're feeling less than 100%, Wylla. The post-snip period is hard. My own kitty wore the crankypants a full day and a half after her operation, but then she felt great and was back to jumping on the kitchen counter (the one place she is not allowed to go!). xoxo wee one

  9. It's nice to see Bean watching over her sister. There's clearly a bond forming between the two.

  10. Even when she is not at 100%, she is still one of the most beautiful kittens ever! You've got quite a pair with those two. I admire the gentleness of Bean so much. My daughter brought her two kitties home from college and our 17 year old cat keeps stalking the baby one and is being very territorial. Poor baby can't even walk by without being hissed at and chased. I would do anything if our cat had Bean's maternal instinct!

  11. Oh, poor sweet baby. Agreed on the pupils in that last pic. Just a thought - maybe vets could give kit-kats those little folding sunglasses like we humans get after eye exams. Wylla would look tres chic in them, of course. Perhaps with a little scarf as well. Feel better, little kitten. We know you're in good hands, and paws.

  12. Poor little peanut. She'll be better before we know it. Love her little basket that gives her some very defined personal space.

  13. Oh poor darling! Those eyes in the last picture - she looks like she's thinking "I can SEE SOUNDS." Don't worry dear Wylla, it was very necessary and you'll be all better soon.

  15. After India's spay, I slept next to her on the sofa for 2 nights. (She had a collar and wouldn't stay still because they took out a lump on her leg at the same time). She would sleep with her face in my hand. Thank goodness Wylla doesn't have that awful collar! Bean is doing a great job!

  17. Wylla: you look slightly askew.

  20. Wylla looks dazed and confused like - "What happened to me Mom?!" and Butterbean is watching over her like a big sister should.

It warms my heart to see both of them together - hopefully Wylla will bounce back soon & be ready for more pics and playtime!

  22. Poor little bitty cat... her body weight is so low that the drugs probably had a greater affect on her. Glad she's rallying today.

    Bean is awesome!!!!

Butterbean is very good to Wylla.

  27. I know that dreamy, goofy post-surgery look only too well! She looks like she came through like the little champ she is! She has what one of my vets called a real "life force." Hugs to you all!

  28. Wylla is beautiful, even when not feeling 100% But she will be doing fine real soon, thanks to the care you and her big sister are giving her, Laurie! That bond between the two girls-and with you-is so
    heart-lifting!
