We Thank You

DSC_0007

I wanted to give a huge thank you to all of you for the sweet, sweet and plentiful comments you left on yesterday's post, Facebook and Twitter too. You're very kind folks and your words were lovely.  I read every single one, and was certainly feeling your love.  Thank you for that.

Many of you offered to chip in and help make this kitten room happen.  We appreciate it greatly, and those many offers warmed my heart, but I think we've got it covered.  We're not planning anything too elaborate and we're pretty resourceful folks, so I don't anticipate things getting too expensive.  But thank you so much for wanting to contribute.  Knowing so many want to support us in that way means the world to us.

I love this community.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you are very special people.  Honestly, I don' think there's a nicer bunch out there.  I will always appreciate you more than I can ever express with words.

PS. We still have the pink basket.  After so many washings, it's starting to get a bit raggedy and is in need of a few stitches to repair before it can be occupied again by kittens.

  1. The little one is growing into the most beautiful cat - the two of them look so good together. I read your post yesterday and although part of me felt sad I'm just delighted that you are going to be able to continue with your wonderful work. I would miss stopping by every week day to visit - I greatly admire what you do.

  2. You do so much for these adorable fur babies and I admire you so much. Little Wylla is growing up happy because of you and your commitment, and she is beautiful. On behalf of all the kitties you have loved, and those still to come, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  3. Laurie, I appreciate all you, Craig and Charlene do for these kittens, and for helping make our days more special with your lovely photos, videos and posts about Charlene and the kittens. I look forward to your posts each day and they almost always make me happy and warm my heart. Even the occasional sad ones (such as the one about Filbert) touch me so much with the love and care you give these sweet babies. I know it takes so much to take care of the kittens, but you, Craig and Charlene give your utmost care of them each day, and it is such a blessing to me, and I know to us all. Again, thank you for what you do for these kittens, and for your sweet presence on the Internet!

    2. Y'all took the exact words right out of my mouth. Hooray for the all embracing pink basket! Laurie for the next fund raiser you should consider a lapel pin of the basket in all it's loved upon glory, kind of like the red dress for heart disease. I'd buy a basket pin for sure!

  8. If all the comments and offers to help from yesterday's post are any indication, I think that this year's FUNdraiser will be pretty amazing. It's all been said before, but I'll say it again - you have done such an amazing thing to open your home to these precious kittens and even through the tough times, you have always found a way to share a whiskery smile to perk up everyone's day. Keep on doing what you're doing! :) And I must say, Wylla is really starting to look like she's growing up! Her shape is turning positively cat like now, though her sweet face is all adorable kitten.

  14. What a beautiful picture of those two girls! I don't know how you manage to get such wonderful poses. Like it's been said above, this is a place I check daily. I know I will get a smile, a laugh, occasionally some tears. But I agree - it is one of the best places to visit on the internet! Thank you and Craig for going the extra, extra, EXTRA mile for these babies! You make many people very happy :)

  17. Watching Wylla grow up and start to show what a beauty she will become has given me a little glimpse of what Marbles' youth looked like...except she was picked up as a stray 6 months before we found each other at MEOW.

I am so happy to have this blog to come to every day...it has helped me through rough days at work, my current unemployment and I have shared with so many friends.

  18. What a charming picture of Bean and Wylla. If you look at that sweet tiny floofy face, Wylla is saying with her eyes "thank you, Laurie, Bean, and Craig, for taking such good care of me, and giving me a chance at a great life!"

  19. Oh my goodness, I forgot to appropriately express my condolences...but thank you for sending that little one off so carefully and sweetly - it is a terrible disease, as I know. I am so grateful the girls will be fine.

  21. While I didn't reply yesterday, my sentiments are the same of what everyone posted.I would not have my beloveds - Enid and Hester if it wasn't for you. Somedays I wish I snatched up Miranda and Georgette too.

Regarding the "Pink Basket of Love and Comfort" - you know many needle workers so feel free to add my name to your list acquantencies who are more than happy to lend a needle (knitting, embroidery, or sewing).

  22. I'm fairly sure I speak for many IBKC readers when I say if you need to start a kick starter or chip-in whatever to help with the new kitten room don't be shy. I know you don't think you will need it but we won't think less of you if you get into it and realize you do need a bit of help.

    We love you.

If I lived anywhere near you I'd help paint and drywall.. do flooring... drop off home cooked vegan dinners so you can paint... I'm not even close to near by but I'm still willing to help out if you need it. <3

  23. Good evening girls from a cold and wet north west Ireland. Again Laurie your pictures are a daily delight and something I look forward to and miss a lot when unable to check in!! I wish you the best with the new kitten retreat.

  25. The pink basket lives another day! \o/

And is it just me, or is Ms. Wylla growing a smidge? :)

  26. We thank YOU, Laurie for sharing with us. You make our days brighter, happier/sadder but always floofier. Perhaps the Goggie-thon could be dedicated to Filbert this year. Once again I am not happy to live on the East Coast so I can not adopt Wylla. But then, Reilly & Sprite might like it, being supremely floofy Maine Coons...

  28. I don't post a lot but I have to say ditto to every comment I have read the past two days. What a wonderful site and wonderful people Laurie, Craig and Miss Charlene Butterbean are. Thank you for ALL you do. The kitties are so lucky to have you and this is by far the sweetest spot on the internet. I wouldn't go a day without checking in. Thank you for caring so much and for giving so much to this community and the Itty Bittys. The world could use more of you.

  29. Ditto everything that has already been said! And for all of her health problems, I love that we get to see more of Wylla's blossoming.

There. I'm selfish. I don't want to change the Wylla channel. :D

  30. I am a loyal follower, though I'm not sure I've ever posted before now. I am so awed and inspired at what you do day in and day out for the itty bitties that grace your life. You are a wonderful person and those babies are so lucky to have you support them through their first stage of life.

  31. We think YOU are awesome. We thank YOU for all you do to give these babies the very best start in life. xx

  32. You've been getting a lot of encouragement, but let me add my voice to the flood--I appreciate what you do, and I think you're a wonderful photographer. What better use for that talent than to take photos of kittens and find them homes? Even when a kitten dies young, it still means that they got to spend time in a safe place where people loved them. We all want you to hang in there and keep going.
