Look! It's Baxter Lamm!

Over the past couple of months, I've had the pleasure of paying visits to a few of our IBKC alum, and have been taking their portraits for a section in the book.   It's been fun to see these faces again!

I can't share them all, but here's a peek at the very handsome  (and very silly) Baxter Lamm!

He's doing great and is a happy, healthy boy. He's super active and loves to play hard.  He's a chunk, but it is ALL muscle.

His sister, Athena, didn't think much of him at first, but Baxter wore her down, and now they're good pals.  According their mom, Jessica, Athena's a much happier cat now that he's in her life.

Nice work, Baxter!

  6. He has the sassy look of a former IBKC, well-raised (and bathed) by Nurse Butterbean. we would expect no less and are not disappointed!

  7. OMG, he looks like a total goofball with his paws perched up on the cushion like that. Big boy kitties are so loveable.

  10. Wow, he grew up GORGEOUS! So happy to see him! I love when you show us how your foster babies have grown because I like to see how much they've changed and how much they still look the same!

  11. Of course, I had to go check out his baby pictures as I am a relatively new follower of the IBKC. So, so fun to see how they change from wee babies to healthy adult cats! We have a light orange boy named Morley who is now 16 years old. I have to say, of our three, he is the friendliest, head bonkiest of them all! We never saw him as a tiny kitten but I imagine he looked a lot like Baxter!

OMG, I love that sister Zelda has popped in to say hi to her brother! Zelda, did you charm your new sister, India Rose, as well as Baxter charmed Athena? I am sure you grew up to be as beautiful as he did. You were all so adorable as kitten.

  13. He's absolutely gorgeous! I love creamsicle kitties.

And of course Baxter won over Athena. No one is immune to IBKC alumni charm.

    Thanks for the update!

  16. That's a good-looking cat. And of course, the expertly taken portrait allows us to see that.

Looking forward to the book. I try to support all my favorite blogs when they "make it big."

Hey, Laurie. Any chance there will be another print this year for the fundraiser? I love mine so much. It's in a beautiful white wooden frame.

  17. Oh, I just remembered. He's on of the kitties in last year's print, right?

  21. Love the little wrinkled end of his whisker.. It gives him such a saucy look. Hard to believe that it's been over a year already since he was in the Bean's care.

  23. I love posts featuring the IBKC alums. It's wonderful to see what beautiful and happy cats these kittens have grown into. Baxter was such an adorable kitten and he is now a very handsome cat.

Laurie, I'm curious: did Baxter recognize you when you visited him? I wonder to what extent he remembers his kittenhood.

I am very much looking forward to your book. I am voting for an Orson Davenport portrait in the book. :-) It would be wonderful if your publisher could provide you with the funds to visit all of the alums. I would love to see how they all are doing.

Thanks for posting Baxter's picture and giving us a little sneak peak into a section of your book.

And I want to send you a very belated hug. Last week was insanely busy, and I have been meaning to write since I read your post last week about poor Filbert and needing to set up a new kitten room. I was so relieved that no other kitties tested positive. I can only imagine how terrifying the following weeks were, not to mention how stressful Wylla's care must have been during those early weeks. Your commitment to helping cats is moving and downright inspiring.

I also want you to know that this community that you built is a strong and vibrant one and would not leave you if you ever had to stop fostering kittens. I certainly know I would still tune in daily for updates relating to Charlene and I'm sure you would find other ways to help cats that you would chronicle with your usual humor and warmth. We are here for the long haul.

And if you ever need help, please don't ever hesitate to reach out. You can always find me on Facebook. :-)
