Wylla Stout Meets Nikki Sixx

Last night, I suited up Wylla in her little kitty harness and we headed to the vet for a check up and a couple of tests.   She's a seasoned traveler now,  and we're able take rides in the car without putting inside her kitty carrier - she just curls up on the passenger seat, or sits on my shoulder and looks out the window.

We got there a little early, so we took a seat in the waiting area,

where we waited.

And while we waited, this dashing tabby cat appeared.

Miss Wylla had caught the eye of a handsome resident cat named Nikki Sixx and he came over to say hello.

After greeting Wylla, Nikki rolled over and showed us his very handsome belly and his SIX paws.  Yes, Nikki Sixx has six paws.  SIX PAWS.  He has lots of toes too, but we didn't count them.

I guess it takes more than a six-pawed cat to impress  Wylla Stout.

  1. Oh wow, hi there Nikki! *waves with only 2 paws*

  2. That last picture is to die for. That floof, those itty bitty paws, i just want to scoop her up and spend the rest of the week scratching her belly <3

  3. My, that Wylla is a hard sell (chuckle).

  4. Oh wow.. 6 paws! How awesome. Wylla makes my heart happy, such a little beauty xxx

  5. Im not happy that Wylla has her yellow tag! Of course I want her to have a happy life, but I want her to stay here!!!! :(

    1. She has the tag because she's been micro-chipped. They're usually chipped during surgery, right before they leave, but because it will be awhile before she's ready for surgery, and because she travels so frequently, I wanted to get her chipped.

We aren't planning on keeping Wylla, we're just doing all we can to get her really healthy and ready for her permanent family.

    2. What would it take to bribe you to let the Bean have her miniMe?

    3. Oh, I know about the microchipping tag, but usually we don't see them til the ibk's are ready to leave! I want her to grow healthy, and larger, and yet.....

    4. I'm not sure it would work well to have Laurie and Craig adopt Wylla. Remember, Wylla was overwhelmed by ONE crazypants kitten. She might not be able to manage six at a time the way Charlene can, given the health issues. Wylla is beautiful and sweet, but I could understand Laurie wanting her permanent home to be somewhere consistently quiet.

  6. I only count 5 legs - does one of them have 2 paws?

Wylla, if that doesn't impress you, what kind of man will???

    1. He has four legs. One of the back legs has two extra paws stemming from it.

    2. Aha! That makes sense. It was hard to tell from the picture. I did a web search and it seems to be rare for a cat with extra legs to keep all of them (seems like they usually amputate). What a fun resident cat!

  7. I'm so glad Wylla is getting to see the variety of cats that the world has... some have 6 paws, some have no tails, and some have a mega, super, awesome, effossuguss!

  8. I was so excited by the title, I thought she met the human Nikki Sixx -- the tabby Nikki Sixx is just as cute -- wow two extra paws -- he looks like a love bug

  9. Wylla is not only the cutest kitten ever, but clearly she's one of the smartest and best-behaved, too! She looks so precious in her little harness, and of course she was unimpressed by Nikki -- she's infinitely cuter. :) (And if anyone has read David Weber's "Honor Harrington" books, does Nikki remind you of a six-legged treecat or what?)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The treecat's extra paws would be in the middle so that the front legs could turn into tool using hands

      Delete
  10. I just didn't think she could get any cuter and then there she is, in her tiny little red harness. What a little trooper!

  11. I count five...where's number six hiding? :D

    1. On the leg with the one visible extra leg he has another paw on that leg, too.

      Way cool, eh?

  12. I bet Wylla wasn't impressed with Nikki because she was waiting for him to be impressed with her! And apparently he was impressed enough to show his tum!
Six legs! wow, I'd hate to trim all those claws!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Isn't he a very handsome boy! with 6 paws too!! Wylla looks so demure in the last picture.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Gah! That look on her face in the last picture! I am totally in love with Miss Wylla Stout! I wish I lived near you. I would so put in an adoption application. And that handsome Nikki Sixx! What's not love with that boy? I see five paws. Where is his sixth?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh Wylla...you sure have some lofty standards. *giggle*

Nicki Sixx is awesome...did his 6 paws affect his movement or gait at all?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I only counted 5 paws. Where is the 6th?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I've seen a 5-pawed cat before, but never one with six!
Wylla knows that it takes all sorts to make a world and didn't even turn a hair!

    ReplyDelete
  18. those belly spots! Wow, how could Wylla not be impressed??? haha!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't think I would have even noticed the six paws without you pointing it out. Wow.

Wylla's very cute in her harness. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Do they count two paws on his extra foot? It appears there are two separate "palm" paw pads there. Does it affect his gait at all? Thanks for posting that interesting photo of Nikki! It's very interesting to this vet student :)
(and of course thank you for the adorable Miss Wylla. I wish I could get my cats to wear a harness without acting like I'm trying to murder them.)

    ReplyDelete
  21. I can't believe how expressive Wylla's little face is -- I really, really love this little girl so much -- I will miss her when she heads out to her forever home.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Both of his extra paws stem from the one back leg. If you look close, you can see the two separate paw pads. He moves really well, it doesn't seem to slow him down at all.

    1. Well, I'll be a one-eyed hornswoggler. It's no wonder he flirted, though--Wylla's enough to melt the stoniest of hearts! *poof*

  23. Nikki Sixx looks like a lovable guy and sure is handsome too... but Wylla does not have that impressed look on her face!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. What a handsome man Nikki is! I have no idea how Wylla resisted him, especially when he showed his belly.

    ReplyDelete
  25. That picture of Nikki saying hi to Wylla, with his white paw up on the bench is just so sweet! Heck all of these pictures, are!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Geez Wylla - what does it take to impress a girl??? That Nikki is pretty handsome :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Nicely done, Wylla. Don't ever let them think you are too interested.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wylla is doing the Mckayla Maroney scowl in that last pic LOL.

    1. Was thinking the same thing! My two favorite places "Not Impressed" has shown up: with Miss Stout, and with a famous violin case (https://twitter.com/violincase/status/274668497089478656)

  29. Wylla is so cute.
Nikki, well, I'm glad he can walk with his extras.
I'm a Mom of a multi toed boy so, I can see how this might happen. Never seen one though.

I was hoping you would keep Wylla sense she is so used to you and her eating habits.

    1. Because of her condition, Wylla requires more time and care than an entire litter of kittens. If we kept her, it would be difficult to foster too.

    2. It's called a parasitic twin. Basically, he absorbed one of his siblings in the womb, just not completely. This kind of thing also happens when an egg doesn't divide completely but this is different since the legs have a different coat than he does.

I think it's pretty rare to have a cat with a parasitic twin survive, especially since he absorbed a female, apparently (the leg appears to be tricolor).

  30. Wylla is looking so fetch in her harness! Where did you find that criss-cross over her chest design?

And I want to shake the hand of the person who was awesome enough to name Nikki Sixx. Fantastic name!

  31. Wylla is adorable, and I'm so glad that she's a good traveler. My Gus has had health issues, but he's never become a good traveler, no matter how many vet visits.
That is a very cute purse, BTW.

  32. I love this site so much! I check it everyday, ever think about getting a kitten cam? I would watch it all the time!

  33. Nikki Sixx: "How YOU doin'?"

    Wylla: "HMPH"

  34. Nikki Sixx is a handsome chap!

Wyalla certainly looks to be putting on some weight...and getting more gorgeous with every passing day.

  35. Jeez, Laurie! Your purse and your notebook are adorable too!! And I love your house from the pics on the blog. Maybe I should just bribe you to pick out my paint colors for my remodel!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. That last picture of Wylla in her little red harness -- she is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen!

And six paws? I've know cats with extra toes, but not extra paws. Nikki Sixx is quite the handsome boy, no matter how many paws he has!

    ReplyDelete
  37. 6 paws!? Coolest cat ever! Wylla definitely looks like the little diva sticking her nose up in the air at Sixx and that handsome belly! Too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  38. This little travelogue was undoubtedly more fun for us than for Wylla, although she seems to be a VERY good kitten through it all.

And now Nikki Sixx has many more admirers! What a dear handsome greeter :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well, Mr. Nikki ~is~ quite dashing, but I can hardly blame Wylla for being aloof. She must have a million suitors, being the prettiest little thing ever.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh, Nikki Sixx is a handsome fella :D His belly spots remind me of my Guido Anchovy, but Guido has the normal number of paws, which makes him slightly less cool than Mr Sixx here.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Guido Anchovy has just as cool a name, though! I love it.

  41. I hope the visit went well and Wylla is making progress!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Well! I was not expecting that!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Laurie - total non-cat related question, but where did you get that purse (or what is the brand)?? I love it. :)
