This Kitten Can't Be Contained

Wylla went back to the HS again for further observation. She seems to feel good, but there are still some health mysteries we need to solve and hopefully they'll figure it out soon.

Audrey is fine - there's no point in keeping her corralled in the bathroom, so I decided to expand her world and let her explore the main floor.

OH Lordy, she's a tiny, furry Billy Elliot.    She LOVES running and leaping.  Back and forth.  Back and forth. Back and forth.

She's not too into kitten toys, but enjoys wrestling with towels or blankets and burrowing in pillow piles.   I've had to fish her out of a pajama pant leg on more than one occasion.

She's met Bean, but she's not quite sure what to make of that big beast.

Keeping this kitten entertained is a full-time job for us humans.   Hopefully Wylla will be home soon to help us out.

  1. Laurie, thanks so much for the update on the girls! Audrey is the cutest little crazy thing ever. :) Question, though - could you let us know what seems to be wrong with Wylla? I know I'm checking almost hourly for the daily update on that blessed bundle of calico cuteness...what seems to be the problem? Sending love and hugs and purrs to both the girls!

    1. As much as we'd all love to know what Wylla's dealing with so that we can be more specific in our good thoughts, I think Laurie's right not to share details. The internet is full of people (well-meaning or not) who just can't help offering their opinions, and they're not always sensitive about it. If she says it's "problem X" then it opens the door for anyone who's dealt with, read about, or heard of "problem X" to offer unsolicited advice. I know that we all trust Laurie and the wonderful people at the HS to do everything right for the kitties, so I'm content to just come here for whatever updates she's willing to offer and the adorable pictures that she has for us.

Thank you so much Laurie for sharing your fostering experiences with us! You bring such joy and fuzziness to our days.

  2. Aw, poor Wyla. Hope she's doing better soon. I'm sure she'll be plenty happy to be home and playing with her sister again.
Also, your pajama pants are ADORABLE. Audrey seems to want to eat the birdies on them.

  4. I love hearing about Audrey bouncing and borrowing everywhere.

I also think you humans deserve a vacation. I imagine the struggles with Wylla's health have been greatly taxing.

Thank you for being such a kind foster family and for sharing your kitten stories with us.

I really think Audrey would be happy living in MN, she sounds so much like me and I need a new young friend... Wylla could sleep and snuggle with Mom while we go C R A Z Y!!!!

  9. Noooo Wylla :( Please get better soon!

Audrey's baby face in the first three pics breaks my heart. I'm glad she can distract herself with a little crazypants funtime while she's waiting for her sister to return.

  13. Pajama strings are fun for kitties of all ages! I don't dare let mine dangle down for fear of an ambuse. :)

Get well soon Wylla! We know you have a pair of crazy pants like Audrey's that need trying on!

  14. YAY for expanded boundaries for she of the pantalones de locos!
She is definitely giving your pj pants a what for! Wild little gal...

Did Charlene do her usual sit in the middle of the living room and just watch the little tornado?

O sweet Wylla, you can stop being a mystery and start being a lovely, bouncy little gal anytime. Marbles and I are still sending you loves and healing wishes.

  15. What a little goofball! All paws and legs and teeth in on the action there!
Fingers and paws crossed for Wylla! We want to see her bouncing around getting a Bean-Bath soon!

  16. I hope Wylla will be on the mend and back home very soon.

Audrey is exactly how I imagine my Rebus as a young kitten! I adopted him when he was about 9 1/2 months old, and he still behaves like that more than 5 years later.

  22. Come on, Wylla, you can do it! I hope this is her last trip to the vet, until the spaying anyway.

What does Bean think of Audrey? Has she ever seen a kitten with so much energy?

  23. Oh gosh, I hope little Wylla's problems are resolved soon, poor baby! Maybe there's a kitten or two Audrey's age you could "borrow" from the HS temporarily to keep her company and to keep you from going insane? :) Audrey sounds like she's going to be one fun girl as she grows up!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Glad Audrey is able to get out and about. Need to take all that energy and harness it..probably would not need the power company.
Miss Twyla and I are keeping Wylla in our thoughts and meows that she is 100% soon.
Thank-you for all you do for these little silly creatures...
