A Little Bouncier

It seems Wylla's been feeing a little better these past couple of  days.  She's been playing much more, and a little harder.  Not nearly as hard as Audrey plays, but I can only think of a few kittens in our fostering history that could keep up with that girl.

She had some blood work done this week, and her white blood cell count is low, so that means she's still not completely out of the woods.  But I take her current level of bounciness a sign that things are improving.

  3. Perhaps Audrey can share the title of "pantalones de loco" with Oliver Furman?

  16. Wonderful news! She definitely looks better, if a bit tired (and that could be just having a chimpanzee/kangaroo for a sister).

  17. My family jokes that one of my cats is a dog in a cat suit. Maybe Audrey is a monkey in a cat suit...

  21. Yay, Wylla! Keep bouncing and no emergency trips to the vet this weekend! Audrey, you are a rascal but I think you are motivating your sister to get better! Lauri, I hope this is a less stressful weekend for you. Thanks for all of your loving care for these two babies!

  22. Wonderful, Wylla! Laurie, I'm awed by the care and love you give these little creatures, even when it's no fun at all (and cleaning up the kind of problems Wylla has had can't be enjoyable). Here's hoping the worst is over and raising Wylla and Audrey to adoptable age will be a joy from now on.

  24. Audrey sounds like Elvis. When he was a kitten up until he was about 2 1/2, he could play by himself (he's an only cat) SO HARD that he'd have to take a break and start panting. I can't tell you how many times I had to put the curtains back up when he was a kitten. At four, he's calmed down. A little.

Dear Wylla, you can do this girl. You can.

  25. Aw, good news, little Wylla. Also love seeing your sis looking all crazypants. She's got a major case of the dickens, that one.

  26. First-time poster, though I've been a regular (um, obsessive?) reader since I discovered this site some months ago. Love the pics and as well as the writing.

On topic, am rooting for sweet Wylla to feel much better soon. Her eyes do seem brighter in this pic.

  27. Great news to start the weekend! Wylla is certainly looking perkier. Hugs to both the girls, and special snorgles for Ms. Bean who is being especially patient waiting to meet these sweeties. And deep appreciation for all you and Craig do for these wee ones!

  28. Hooray!! She'll be keeping up with that monkey in no time...

Is it Wylla with a long I or Wylla with a short i sound? I go back and forth in my head when I read..

  29. Good news!
And, Audrey cannot be faulted for playing so hard... she's playing for three. A tough job, but someone's got to do it.

  30. I'm so glad little Miss Wylla is feeling better! I've been somewhat worried about her -- even in the most excellent hands, kittens sometimes just are meant to head to the Bridge, like sweet little Filbert. But if Wylla is starting to try to keep up with her crazy sister, I see a happy, healthy forever home in her future! I only wish it could be mine ....

  31. I'm so happy to hear that - I've been biting my nails. She looked so sad in those undercover pictures...but seems to be perkier. Let's hope she's bouncing around in no time!

  32. I'm glad to hear Wylla's continuing to do better. A magic healing wand that'd instantly make her 100% better would be great, but since one is unlikely to show up anytime soon I'll be satisfied with steady, if slow, improvement.

  33. Sounds like she's on the mend, if not there yet. Keep getting better little sweetie!
