It's Charlene's Birthday Eve!!

And she's so excited!

See!

We call this move "signaling the mothership".  She used to do it frequently as a kitten, but I haven't seen her do it in years.

And to this day, I still have no idea why she does it.

Tune in tomorrow for lots of birthday fun!!!

  4. That's hilarious. You're so cute Bean!
And Anne Boleyn is right, who else could give what she does just the right name? lol

  5. But Beanie IS signalling the Mother Ship. My cat Gwen used to call for the ship to come from behind the TV armoire. After all her birthday is OUT OF THIS WORLD.

  6. Lately my cat, Sarge, has been raising his right paw when he wants something (food, head skritches). At first I thought he was hurt but I felt the arm up and he didn't wince or express pain and he's been putting his weight on it as usual. So the only thing I can think of is that it's a signal like what Bean is doing

  8. I'm pretty sure my cats see ghosts and a whole other dimension to the universe that we mere humans do. Maybe Charlene is in a similar situation.

  9. Your cat just raises a paw? Count yourself luck. Mine reaches out and touches some one, claws and all. (Spoiled imperious little lovable brat that he is.) <3

Is it wrong that I'm hoping that there'll be kittens for Charlene's birthday?

  11. One of my cats, Atticus, does the exact same thing. It's so cute - especially since he's a lanky 14 lb boy cat - he can reach quite high.

    Here's hoping for kittens!

  12. Since cats ARE the superior race, I'm not surprised that Charlene is calling the mothership in for her birthday celebration. I'm just amazed that she slipped up and let a mere human catch it on film! ;)
