The Trimble Report

I dropped by the shelter twice yesterday to check in on the kittens.   Nothing had really changed much, and everyone still weighed the same.

Wee Willard was happy to see me and jumped up when I said hello.  I took him out of the cage and held him in front of my face to take a good look at the boy.   He stretched out his arms and kneaded my nose.

I spent some time holding Monroe and Bess.  They were both happy to receive some affection and purred in my arms.

I returned them all to their cage, closed the door and told them "you better eat!"  Wee Willard  jumped off the box he was perched upon and stuck his nose in the bowl of crunchies.  Just a coincidence, I'm sure.

When I came back later that day, all of the Trimbles were eating.  That's a great sign.  Hopefully when I swing by today, they'll be doing the same.

So, no huge improvements, but no set-backs either.    I talked to the doctor and she said as soon as they start putting on weight, they can come home.

Fingers crossed that will happen soon.

  4. They are going to be SO happy to get home.

You did the right thing. After Sarge had his surgery he stayed at the vet for a while and kept in a cage where all there was to do was eat. Sounds like the Trimbles are doing the same.

  5. Wee Willard has such a big personality!

I remember when my dear departed kitty Steve was in the hospital and needed to put on weight, the vet techs discovered that she'd eat if she was being petted. So, they brought her out into the office where they could pet her every time they went by!

  7. Poor little bumpekins, I am sure they would rather be out of the cage and being held!

Are they being assist fed at the shelter?

  8. They might be holding out for turkey and dressing!! Wee Willard has been a kneader from the start, hasn't he? I remember one of his first photos show his paws splayed in mid-knead. :)

We're in Yosemite for a looong weekend, so our healing mojo is being sent from a mystical site. All you little Trimbles continue to chow down and pack on the ounces. Charlene needs you, and we need pictures of you!! xo

  16. It is very sad that kittens are losing weight. Try them to eat some things which are nutritious and healthy. So that they will gain some weight and would be healthy.
