Just Bean

For the first time, in a very long time, we're kitten-less. Even though Charlene had a great time with Buster and Susanna this past week,  I think she's really enjoying our quiet home.

When there are kittens running about, doors are closed to keep them in or out. Charlene likes the freedom to roam about the house whenever and wherever she wants.

She's reclaimed some of her favorite haunts and has been napping in more visible spots. There's no need to retreat under beds if there are no kittens to disturb her nap.

So, for at least a few days, we're going to be kitten-less. The past few litters have over-lapped, and I think Bean has earned a little time off for good behavior.

Not too long of a break, but just a few days. We'll peek into the foster room next week to see if there are any babies in need.

 For now, it's just Bean.

  9. She's so amazing with the kittens it'd be easy to think she'd be fine with them 24/7/365, but we all need a break sometimes however much we love our work. I'm sure she's no different.

So, Ms. Bean, rest up and roam around to your heart's content, and look forward to getting your paws on some new littles.

  12. Thanks for sharing Miss Charlene with us. Kittens are fun, cute and delightful but they grow up to become cats. Let's hope they are as beautiful as The Bean!

  13. Charlene Butterbean should get a few uninterrupted naps and perish the thought of ANY door being closed to her. :-)

She's a beautiful girl and probably needs some time in the spotlight. I'm sending her lots of head kisses from Oklahoma.

  18. Whenever you open your home to visitors, it's always nice to have some time to relax and rest when they've left. So enjoy your quiet time, Charlene, with your mom & dad. And when the next visitors are ready for Miss Charlene's Finishing School, you'll be ready for them.

  22. It has been said many times but bears repeating - Bean is BEAUTIFUL!! She is definitely a "Fall" on the color wheel. Or maybe that is just enhanced by your colorful decor or spectacular photography. Whatever - Bean is BEAUTIFUL and has earned a break (as have her human companions).

Enjoy the run of the house Ms Bean.

  23. Miss Bean has earned a break for many reasons!

The end-to-end litters of students is the biggest of them. And the hard work of tutoring while also questing for resting places can drain a furry girl!

Laurie, I hope you and Craig will do Charlene's fans a favor and give her some head-bonks or ear rubs....

  26. Enjoy your peace and quiet, i'm sure it won't be for long. I think the mumster would prefer the pitter patters of kittens :)xx

  28. Anon,, we don't know for sure because she was a shelter kitty, and we don't know her history. She looks a lot like a Birman,, but who knows...
