Graduation Day

DSC_0211

Maggie and Jason recently moved to Tacoma and were getting settled into their new home.   Everything was near perfect, but one thing was missing... a little kitty companionship.

Maggie had been following the IBKC  for some time, and once the Wiggins were introduced on the blog, she emailed me.  I could tell from her letter of introduction that she and  Jason were just the kind of folks we like to adopt our kittens to,  so we were excited to have them over for a meet and greet.

The meeting went great.  All the kittens were especially cute and charming that evening, and I think they could of easily picked any pair.  They decided that each would pick their first pick, and Maggie picked Susanna, and Jason picked Buster.

On Sunday,  Maggie and Jason came to pick up the kittens.

They had just returned from vacation, and we so excited to be bringing home their babies.   And we couldn't be more excited that they were the ones who adopted them.

Here are a few moments from our last morning with Buster and Susanna:

  3. Oh woman are they cute! What lucky little kittens to start their lives in such a loving foster home and, it sounds like, living their lives in such a loving forever home.

Thanks for the continued smiles Laurie. I've emailed you privately about how meaningful your blog is to me - it brings me lots of smiles, which I can always use.. but these days I'm trying to write a dissertation, and so now your blog not only brings me smiles but also a sweet respite from writing the dissertation and all the other work I'm involved with.

    Thank you :).

PS. Of course I have my own gaggle of cats to bring me smiles and distractions, but your gaggles - I don't have to clean their litter box :).

  4. Oh, perfect, perfect, perfect! I am so happy these babies will grow up together with a wonderful family! And your pictures are great rememberances of their time with you, Craig and the Bean! Buster and Susanna as forever sibs - perfect!

  7. Jason has good taste - I have to admit I've been a bit partial to Buster myself.

And look how proud Dean Bean is of her students!

  8. I love Charlene keeping an eye on Buster. How lovely that they got to go together to a good family! How lucky for that family as well. But someone better keep an eye on Buster!

  9. Awww. I was right. So glad they're going together - Buster is such a little stinker, like so many lovable orangies before him.

  10. I can just hear "Pomp and Circumstance" playing in the background of that first picture. Wow! Ms Bean, right behind Buster, ready to push him out into the world. Good job, Charlene. :)

  11. Goodbye time again? :(
It sounds like they've found the perfect family though. And these pictures are just beautiful!

  12. I love the pair of photos that show Miss Susannah checking out the pumpkin stem and the yawn or YECHHH expression. Gorgeous gal!

And dear Buster. He is so full of bluster...he is a precious boy who may not be a confident as we think he is...as he glances back at "Dean Bean" at the end.

Laurie, thanks x infinity for your photo essays filled with love.

  14. Ron and I looked at these shots together, oohing and aching over each one, going back and forth to look again and again. What a perfect series. Perfect.

  15. Oh, they look so grown up! All ready for their new home. I'm on my way to the shelter to pick up a mom & her new kittens for fostering. Wish I had a Charlene to help. My cats aren't too interested in the kitten-raising!

  17. Aww... in the first photo, Bean looks so proud of her latest proteges. And well she should!

  18. Again, what a gorgeous set of photos. My favorite is the one with Susanna in the front, with Buster and Bean out of focus. But a close second is the one with Susanna lying on her side with an arm stretched out...and the one of Buster with his ears cocked back...and the one... You outdid yourself. What beautiful babies.

that Buster wiggins is such a boy! excellent 'ears of annoyance' snap! and Susanna will be a lovely lady, though she must stop gagging at pumpkins, ladies do not "gag", susanna...

  22. That's great! I love the first picture with the Bean sitting proudly behind her newest graduate.

On a side note, my cat Sarge hasn't been eating well for a while. The vet and I did all sorts of tests and medicine but nothing worked. Friday we found out he has a tumor next his stomach. Samples were sent out for testing. Today they came back and it was NOT cancer, just a mass of cells that needs to be removed. He goes in tomorrow and will be back the day after.

Finding out my buddy does not have cancer is fantastic news.

  23. Glad to hear Sarge doesn't have cancer, Jason! LOVE to see Miss Bean so proud of her graduates. She ought to be, all that work and love she puts in.

  24. Buster's got that batty look my Gus gets before he runs into a window or does a mad dash around the house.

    What is it about Gingers??

  25. Awesome pics as usual Laurie - love Bean and Buster - teacher and student. And the one of Susanna Rose and Buster - her eyes seem to be saying "really, I am stuck with Buster, ahhh such is life, I guess I can manage. If I must." LOL

Those two pictures with Susanna and the pumpkins are so cute. She looks like she's really wishing she hadn't smelled it. XD
Beautiful two, even more beautiful that they got their homes!

  29. Your photos are always so amazing. Have you considered taking some holiday-themed ones and making them into christmas cards to sell? You could raise money for the Humane Society and give people adorable, heartwarming, softly-glowing images of furry domestic bliss!

  30. Such adorable pictures (I really don't know how you do it)! I'll miss these little Wiggins but I'm happy dear Suzanna and Buster get to live together forever--they seem such a happy pair.

Also, I second Kodalai's comment above. Your first image, in particular, is stunning.
