These little Dearborns are growing up so fast, and changing so much.

At first, they were all about getting fed, staying warm, and feeling safe. More and more, they need interaction and playtime with each other and us too.

They're romping and chasing each other. We've witnessed some side-winding, pouncing, ear-nomming and butt-biting.

They like to use our limbs as monkey bars and our laps as a wrestling rings. It's pretty awesome being the playground monitor/referee for this little family.

They're getting fatter too! You can see that their faces are starting to fill out. Everyone is well over the one pound mark. Sheldon is the biggest and Phoebe is the smallest.

Don't worry though, they'll be with us for awhile. They're growing fast, but still have a long way to go.

  6. This little family is so adorable. I'm glad that they are gaining weight and rough housing -- shows how well adjusted they are and how much fun they're having enjoying each other. Have a great weekend -- I'll catch you up on Monday !!

  7. Laurie: Thank you so much for the update. The Dearborns have completely stolen my heart--each little face makes me absolutely melt (although, I have to admit, in the end it will always be the tortie-and-whites...this means you, Marla and Geraldine. Laurie, please don't forget you promised Marla belly photos at some point. I'm betting her belly is even more impressive now she's had a week or so of your home cooking!) Have a wonderful weekend, with plenty of time for snorgling kittens and Charlene (not necessarily in that order).

  9. Though I'm not there to physically interact with these babies to really know their personalities, just looking at their little faces I get the following impressions of them:

Pearla - the wise, loving and always smiling oldest sister
Geraldine - the fun-loving, flirty and mouthy next oldest sister
Marla - the quiet, serious, arty girl
Sheldon - the silent and handsome brother (also overwhelmed by all the girlage)
Phoebe - the sweet, charming, tiny baby of the family

I don't know how true all this is, but it was fun imagining their characters! :)

  11. Geraldine is still the world's cutest kitten as far as I'm concerned. I love her little pink tongue and the way she always looks like she's smiling. The others are exceptionally adorable too.

  12. I just LOVE sweeties Marla and Geraldine!! They remind me of kitten days for my darling girl Ginger who is now 4, she is a tortie & white too. They have such a cute little way about them....they know how special they are!!

  16. Miss Pearly is the cutest little one ever. Can she also be called a tuxie? I mean she is Ash and white. Waiting for the day to see her pink little snout cleaned white by Aunty Charlene

  17. It looks like they have the 'eating' part down really well....

  18. Pearla is #1 - a feminine little one in 'morning suit' colors.

But the Torties are so strikingly, splashily colored!

Not that the tabby is shabby by any means!

  19. Aw... I'd love to get in on some playground monitor/referee action with this class! I'd make recess last as long as the itties could take it, and then there'd be naps all around, preferably with one wee Dearborn on each shoulder, one tucked under my chin, and let's see, I'm sure there'd be room for the other two scholars to curl up too... :) Yep... that's how it'd be allright... in my kitten-y dreams!!
