A Little Bit About These Itty Bitty Easterbrooks

DSC_0002

From left to right: Norma, Astrid and Thurston Easterbrook

These Easterbrooks are a little bit littler than our most recent litters. They came into the shelter at four weeks. Their bellies were plump, and it looked like they had just been pulled off of their mama.

We started them off with a little bit of KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement) and some wet food too. They struggled with the wet food for the first couple of days, but have since mastered it. All are gaining weight, and are getting thicker through their middles.

They were a little bit hissy at first, but those days are long over. Now, they're happy and bouncy and always so glad to see us when we enter their world.

Because they're tiny, they spend the bulk of their day in a large, wire kennel. I made a little sleeping loft that's large enough for the pink basket and also allows some room for wrestling. There's a cardboard scratcher ramp that leads them to the loft. It is easy to climb up, and fun to roll down.

On the lower lever, they have their "bathroom", dining area, and the rumpus room.

It's set up in my craft room and when I'm in there working, they are allowed to come out of their cage, and bounce around the room. They think that's REALLY fun.

I'm getting ready for a craft show right now, so I've been spending a lot of time in there. It's nice having their company. They like to climb on me, perch on my shoulders and nap on my neck while I work. It's pretty sweet.

It's fun having such little ones. I look forward to watching them grow, and seeing their little personalities develop. Charlene will enjoy them too. She likes them young, and she'll like that there's just three of them.

  5. They are so adorable. Little Norma reminds me of my first cat, Jet. He was a fuzzy-wuzzy black kitten. Oh, I miss those TEENY kitten days! Enjoy >^..^<

  6. They are all certainly adorable! Thurston really cracks me up -- even though he's so tiny, I can tell in every picture of him thus far that he has an enormous amount of catitude! Norma and Astrid look so sweet and lovely. This will be a fun bunch to watch grow, I can tell!

  11. Awww - what a bunch of cuties. Mom is still jealous of the picture taking...she is trying to get a group shot of kittens at our house and only manages to get a bunch with 1/2 kittens sticking out. MOL

  18. They're adorable!
When I had my most recent kitten rescues @ 6 weeks of age in Sept., I mixed the wet food in the goat milk.
They won't be tiny for long!

  19. I adopted my tuxie girl as an adult kitty so when I see the baby tuxie's I pretend they are my kitty Mishi's baby pic's. I'm sure she looked just like Astrid.
