Crafts, Kittens.

I have some news to spill. It's craft related, not cat related. If you're not into crafts, feel free to scroll to the bottom of this post where you'll see a photo of six adorable kittens napping.

OK, here we go...
It's been nearly two years in the works, and finally, MAKING PAPER FLOWERS, my book/kit with Barnes and Noble is coming out at the end the month. I won't bore you with all the details, but if you would like to find out a little more about out it, or even pre-order a signed copy, you can do so by visiting HERE.

I'm so crazy excited.

I got a few boxes of the books yesterday (though they're not officially released until the 25th). Like most cats, Charlene loves cardboard and boxes, so she was pretty excited about the books arriving too. Just for different reasons.

He's a little peek...

And here's six adorable kittens napping.

And nope, I didn't pose them. They were enticed by a sunbeam that was hitting the edge of the bed. They started off wrestling in it and when I came back to check on them later, they had all drifted off in a row.

In one stroke, I pet them all. This set off a chain-reaction of purrs which made the loveliest Medley melody. They stirred and stretched then assumed their positions and drifted off again.

  13. Conga-rats on the new book, Laurie! What exciting news!

You are killing me with the thought of those adorable kittens purring all at once-kitty purrs are always so soothing, anyway, so that has got to be a very lovely sound from so many sweet tiny ones!

  20. Many congrats on the book! It's wonderful that a publisher has recognized your talent!

Although, of course, your talent for kitten photography FAR outweighs your other talents! Oh my, that line of babies -- could it BE more adorable? My squeeing has exceeded the hearing range, I swear!

  21. Congratulations on the book! I can't wait to get my hands on it.

And I'd totally have my hands on those Medleys, except that Sophia has to approve any new heartbeats in the house, and she's a little cranky girl.

  22. Congratulations on the book, Laurie! *humming a Medley melody in the background!)

What a great accomplishment! Your next book could be a coffee table book of kitten photos! Or one of only the Bean! She is book-worthy for sure!

Seriously, I know how tough getting published is - and I am thrilled for you! You are, hopefully, having a great book birthday!

And cheers on the Medleys! They are quite an accomplishment, too! >^.^<

  23. Many congrats on your book! I can feel your excitement even through cyberspace!

I am in love with that photo of the sleeping Medleys!!! I love how kittens/cats from the same litter always sleep as a unit. I have GOT to see if I can be a foster mother with my local shelter.

  29. Big congrats Laurie! I think I'll have to purchase a copy.

  30. It's the way the little grey tabby is turned to the left, while all the others are turned to the right...

This passel of kitties really was worth the wait...

    ReplyDelete

  45. Number one, Congrats!!!!!! I'm so happy for you on having a book released!!!! You must be super-uber excited!!!!!
Number two, I am so jealous that you have such a gorgeous bunch of kitties! (we own three, and foster two, and although I wouldn't trade any for anything, I with our two big foster kitties were little again!!!)
Third, I LOVE the way you don;t have to do anything but take the picture!! Why oh why can't my cats have wonderful poses in great places that don't show how messy my house is? *sigh*
