It's a Quiet Day

DSC_0363

Just in case you missed Bean's tweets this weekend, we did find a home (and a very good one) for Georgie and Clarence. I'll give you more details on that, when I tell their departure tale. They'll be leaving us Thursday evening.

Everyone is off getting snipped today, so it's very quiet around the house. I just took all of our Christmas decor down too, which makes it feel extra empty around here. Bean said hello this morning, but retreated while I was off delivering the Bartletts to the shelter for surgery. She's under the bed sleeping, and I suspect with the Bartletts away, she'll stay there for the bulk of the day.

That's OK. Bean can use a down day. She loves those Bartletts, and has been spending so much time bouncing around with them that she's missed a few naps.

So, a quiet day is a good day.

Good day, everyone.

  4. Aw, poor tuckered out Bean! After all the kitten wrangling and kitten bathing and kitten etiquette teaching she does, she more than deserves to catch up on her naps.

It seems like the Bartletts just got here, but I'm glad they've grown well (they really did look a bit scrawny at first...) and generally gotten past the rough start they got and are ready to join their forever families.

  5. Rest up, Bean, you have earned it. Is there such a thing as a cat spa day, Laurie? If there is, I am sure The Bean is due.

Love it when the litters go off in pairs!

  10. Yay that all the kitties have found homes. Miss Bean you definitely have earned a nice long nap from all the bathing and watching over these current batch of kittens. Herding kittens is exhausting, isn't it!

  17. This is great news. Once again the whole family is spoken for before they get snipped. You do a wonderful job that is rewarding as well as bittersweet. I hope the Bean is doing OK since she's without feline company again. But there's another litter coming I bet. *sigh* I know the two weeks of isolation are important and shouldn't be avoided. But I wish it could be shortened so we can watch the Bean interact with the kittens.
