A Floofy Little Visitor

DSC_0755

Just before I left on my trip, Sue of Pitter Pats fame stopped by for a visit and brought her fluffy little ward, Pat. Charlene was happy to meet the boy, who looks an awful lot like a buff version of Mr Nigel Frost.

They became fast friends, and had a great time batting around the sparkle balls and playing with the feather wand.

Pat is one cute little dumpling, and we all enjoyed meeting him.

PS I stopped by the shelter on Tuesday, and there were no kittens in need of fostering. We're at the top of the list, so as soon as some arrive, we'll be getting the call.

  2. Pat is, of course, adorable but The Bean always steals my heart. She is such an amenable cat! Hopefully she got her kitten fix until you guys get a new litter.

In the second pic it does look like she is saying "paws of the red sparkle ball, kid!" though!

  3. Yay! No kittens in need of homes! That's wonderful. And Pat IS an adorable little dumpling.

  4. Oh, Pat, I've admired you on Sue's site, but didn't quite realize what an adorably short little tail you sport. The Bean certainly loves babies! No kittens to foster...good in the grand scheme of things, but I do feel a tad sorry for myself having to wait to fall in love with a whole new litter.

  5. No kittens in need of fostering? YAY! No kittens on IBKC? Boo!

Pat is darling. I loved his pics on Sue's site. He reminds me of the victorian postcard kittens.

  6. Oh, I've been loving the photos of poofy Pat on Sue's blog. He is so cute. I hope this perked Charlene up a little bit in her kittenless home.

  7. I wonder if Pat is on Charlene's wish list for Santa...

  8. I'm hoping Charlene hasn't called the grandparents for list making suggestions...Laurie might have to build an addition onto her house! As for wishing for Pat...too late, Bean: http://pitterpatsofbabycats.blogspot.com/

  9. Aw, looks like they both had a blast! Maybe more play dates with Sue's littles are in order to keep Bean's spirits up while waiting for new kittens to love?

  13. Hey! That's my baby!!! I got to adopt Mr. Floof himself and he is such a doll! Well, except at 3am when he's playing with my toes through the sheets, but even then I can't bring myself to yell at that face. His floof is also a natural self defense against kisses...

  14. Congratulations, Becky. I fell in love with Pat with that first photo of him that Sue shared. Good thing I'm on the other coast or he'd have been mine....such a precious fluffy one he is!

  15. Oh would you just LOOK at him...fabulous. (Lucky you, Becky!) And yes, though I always love to see the kittens, it is a very good sign when none are needing fostering.

  16. yes, he is a little darling......if only he could come to South Carolina......and the Bean, what a good girl.

  17. Pat is the poofiest kitty I've ever seen! He looks so soft, I don't know how you managed to keep your nose out of his fur long enough to take pictures.

  18. Hooray! No kittens that need fostering! I hope that means fewer animals being handed over to the shelter. I'm sure Bean is disappointed. I hope she's getting enough stimulation now that her sister is gone and there's no kittens. I know you and your husband do what you can, but I tend to think that nothing really replaces a member of your own species.

  19. Like Holly said - "No kittens in need of fostering? YAY! No kittens on IBKC? Boo!"

    Bean & Pat = floofiliciousness!!!

  20. Oh, congratulations, Becky!

I wonder if we could somehow set up a convoy of kittens who need fostering. That would certainly keep the Bean happy.

  21. Definitely Floofilciousness as KBJ said. Pat you are one floofy kitteh! Love that there are no kittens in need of fostering.

  22. Well, it's not really "kitten season" right now. A shame - kittens are born all year round, it's just that not as many make it in the cold weather.

I've always said, though, that while homeless cats aren't a good thing necessarily, just think what would happen if we succeeded and all the cats in the world were fixed. Then there'd be no more kittens.

There is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

  23. Pat, are you for real? The floof is outrageous!

  24. No kittens is a good thing, I agree! We and Charlene just need to be patient. Of course, it helps to get visits from tiny floofy adorable boys!

  25. Anon, we are VERY far from all the cats in the world being fixed. When there are no more unwanted cats being brought into shelters, then we can talk about an underpopulation problem.
