A Whole Lot of Cute, A Whole Lot of Floof

Aren't they fabulous? That's a whole lot of cute crammed into those two little frames, isn't it? And they are sweet, sweet, sweet and both ooze charm.

Mimsey is the goofy one. She's the trouble instigator. She's busy. She likes to roll on her back and make air biscuits. Her coat is cottony-soft.

Nigel is a gentle boy. He likes to run and pounce. He's a little cloud. He's a pouf. Under all that hair, there's not much there. He needs to gain some weight, and that's why their here.

Mimsey weighs exactly two pounds, but Nigel only weighs a pound and a half. As soon as he hits two pounds, we'll get them in for surgery. I don't think it should take too long to find a home for this fabulous duo, so most likely they won't be here too long.

I don't know anything about their history... if they had siblings... where the lived before they came to the shelter... It does seem like they were getting plenty of attention, where ever it was they were because they are pretty lovey-dovey little kittens.

  3. I would have guessed Ms. Mimsey as the smaller. I hope they go together, they look like they knead each other.

  4. Toooooo adorable!! Love them!!

When you say "surgery" that means they will be spayed/neutered - correct? I always thought surgery was based on age. You use weight as the measurement. Is that because you(shelter) don't know how old they really are?? Just wondering.

  5. Linda, according to our shelter rules, to be spayed or neutered, they have to weigh two pounds and be two months old. Two months generally comes before two pounds, so we're usually waiting on weight.

  7. Out with the Lively and in with the Floofy! I wonder if the Bean will ever meet them. I wonder how long will it take for Nigel to gain the necessary weight. Because after that someone is going to adopt them quickly. I can see that happening before the 2 week quarantine period is up.

  10. When they make air biscuits it just kills me:) My old girl still does this on occasion, just slays me with the cuteness.

  11. I add my voice to the crowd: absolutely precious!!! Laurie, do you have a guess as to how old they are, in your professional opinion?

  13. It's so hard to imagine anyone looking at these sweet faces and giving them up. If only the kittehs could tell us where they've been, oh...the stories we'd have!

  14. okay, maybe they are cuter than lalie-bilalie katten (no longer a kitten, not yet a cat). darn it! i thought that there could be no cuter kitten (now katten) in the WHOLE world than lalie-bilalie katten, but these might just have topped my sweet dear-er.

  15. Oh how adorable. If they were in Colorado, they'd be in my house the instant they were done with surgery. Sigh.
Does the girl have a problem with one of her eyes?

  16. Oh sweet floofy boy! Sounds like my Buzzo- he's still surprisingly small, all floof and big paws (9 lbs full grown! he was the runt of his litter so I HAD to have him. Colby was the smallest boy in his litter too, but grew up to a respectable 11 1/2 lbs.)

When I first saw them introduced in the earlier post, I thought sadly that they probably are the last two IBKC kittens of 2010. Lucky kittens, though!

  17. Oh wow! They are so cute it actually hurts! I would love to adopt some kitties so much but I'm simply not in a position to at the moment. I'm terribly broody for a brood of kitties :( so your blog gets me through the day. Your pictures are gorgeous. And the massive amount of love and work that you pour into your fostering is heartwarming and an absolute joy to watch. I can't thank you enough for sharing this all with us! You do such a fantastic job.

  18. Simply ethereal! I do have a weakness for floofy kitties. The extra sweet expressions on their faces just makes it that much harder to look away.

  19. AHHH THE CHEEK FLOOF THE CHEEK FLOOF!!!! The only thing more tempting to sink your nose into and snorfle is neck floof.

And my floofy cat so far away! Not that she'd allow me to snorfle her neck floof unscathed. Maybe a short cheek snorfle.

  20. Mimsey reminds me so much of my dear departed Milly. She had nearly the same markings and general body shape, and from your description, a similar personality.

  21. Spectacularly floofy and wonderful!

  22. Little Miss Mimsey really reminds me of Baby Walter Finch (my all-time favorite IBK!) for some reason. I think it's her eyes and facial expression. She and Nigel are both such floofy cuties!
