Oliver's Departure Tale

DSC_1606

Morning, everyone. I'm sorry for the delay in O's departure story. Originally we planned to send him on his way yesterday afternoon, but it got rescheduled for this morning instead.

Lots of good guesses on who the lad would be moving in with, but no one got it right.

Mr Oliver Nicholas Furman is now Mr Oliver Nicholas Musselman-Furman. Yep. He's got himself a pair of brothers... Benny and Arthur Musselman!

Mama Kate came over and we completed the adoption paperwork this morning, then we all walked back to Kate's house. She lives just a block away.

Benny and Arthur, who are now GIGANTIC cats, met us at the door. We let Oliver meet the boys, and everything went just grand. They sniffed each other, and said hello. There was absolutely no aggressive or scaredy-cat behavior. Just curiosity.

I stayed for a little bit and watched Oliver explore his new digs. He walked around, seeming confident and comfortable with his little tail straight up in the air. Arthur disappeared upstairs eventually, and Benny continued to watch Oliver explore.

I put a collar with a bell on Oliver so if he decides to ambush his brothers, they will hear him coming. Also, when Oliver is all over, it will be easier to track him down.

So how's that for a happy ending! Our rowdy little boy gets two big brothers to play with, and they all live just a block away! AND he's got an awesome new mom, too! He's one lucky little boy.

  1. I'm not sure who is happier about this. Oliver, knowing that he has a great new mom, two fun brothers and a new place to explore, or you. Knowing that your sweet boy is in good hands and that you'll be able to watch him grow into a gorgeous big boy.

Laurie, when you were at Kate's house, did Benny and Arthur remember you? Did they come over to get pet and sit with you?

  31. Kodiak and Kenai's mom - They boys said hello to me, but I didn't get the impression they remembered me. I have visited them a couple of times since they left here, but have never gotten the impression they remembered me. That's a long time ago for kitties.
