Kittens of Mass Destruction

The other morning, I heard an unusual rustling coming from the kitten room. I went in to investigate, and caught some naughty kittens in the act.

I had left their little kitten climber too close to the table I had set up our little telethon set on. Betty and Marie-Noire had climbed up there, got on the table, and were trashing the joint. I'm not sure they were the only ones responsible for the mess because the others weren't too far away, involved in similar merriment.

The tiny chairs were turned over, tote board numbers with teeth marks were on the ground, the telephones were strewn about. One kitten was behind the curtain and batting at the other on the other side.

I got there just in the nick of time. It seemed it was only a matter of moments before the walls would be literally coming down.

Naturally, I grabbed my camera to document the mad scene.

After a few pictures, I plucked the kittens from the set. I had to laugh, Betty had a number two stuck to her foot. Not a number two as in poo, but an actual number two from the tote board.

No major harm done, no one got hurt, and I got a few pictures...

  10. How on Earth are people supposed to call in their pledges, Kittens, if you've knocked the phones off the table??? KITTENS? Are you listening to me???

Oh, man, that is so cool. :) Big smile here. Hopefully, with a little glue, you can get the set back in working condition, Laurie.

  11. It's because you left that mug full of coffee on the table and all that caffeine had them bouncing off the walls! LOL

  12. I think Betty was just trying to find more coffee.

  16. Kitten Rule #2012 - We are little, agile, and easily bored. If it can be upset, overturned, knocked off, chewed, or climed, it will be. Sooner or later.

  17. It was the gang not the individual kitties. They would have NEVER reeked mayham by themselves. They are too innocent!

Glad no permanent damage was done.

    Still chuckling!

  22. Kittens of Mass Destruction would be a cool name for a rock band

  23. Aww, cute! I notice a dollar bill and some pennies--was that your little four-year-old friend's donation? It would be so cool if it gave the kittens a little fun before going off to be part of the squillions!

  28. Be serious, people. These kittens need to be punished! I have never seen such a lack of discipline. My kitties would NEVER.......

What the hell am I saying?

  29. this is adorable! I love how you grabbed the camera 1st Laurie...smart move! You need to to a coffee table book!

  31. Such naughty little girls - love it! And yes, they should start a rock band, Kittens of Mass Destruction or KMD for short.

BTW, I am noticing in these pics that Miz Betty June looks a lot like my 'Nanda when he was a baby - down to the silver/gold fur. When I saw the first pic, I was like, "man, that's a mini 'Nanda!" No wonder she grabbed my heart from the first time I saw her! :)

And PS: congrats to all the winners of the naming auctions! Y'all rock!

  32. Kitties of the world, revolt!

    Absolutely priceless, Laurie.

    Snorgles to them all!

  33. I love Opal's donation on the fundraising set!

  35. Ya see why I don't have any kittens working for me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Wow! Your fundraising set got hit by a squee storm!

You go and give 'em names and the next thing you know they trash the place...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well whadaya expect? They've been at the phones, day in and day out for the past week or two. Wouldn't you finally snap and trash the place too? I mean, haven't we all felt this way at work at some point?

  38. Whenever one of my four cats gets close to money they look to see when a bus is coming (about 1x an hour) to hop a ride with the cash. But not good at keeping people time so the garden becomes more interesting very quickly, oh and the kibble, and the birds, and there goes a bug....

  39. tee hee, naughty kittens! I hope they didn't also damage the tote counter on your page. I just made a donation but it didn't increase? thanks

  40. This is hysterical. I can see the girl group, KMD, out on the road, opening for the ToM. Ticket sales will break records, the bands will break hearts.

And I love the fact that, as usual, our unflappable Laurie grabs her camera before putting a stop to the kitty mayhem. Sheesh, with this batch she's less Foster Mom, more House Mother to the rowdiest sorority on campus.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Camera first, repairs later...

I got a kick out of the clarification over #2.

Betty June is giving some rude individual on the phone a sample of her feerceness...grrrr

  42. One of those hooligans must've taken a call from Basement Cat...putting naughty ideas in their kitten tot heads!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh, the mischief these guys have in them ... I would have done the same thing, Laurie. Camera first!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Next thing you know, the furniture will be nailed to the ceiling and Bean will be tied up with string from the craft room! LOL Too cute this fuzzy gurlz!

  45. Pic # 3 with coffee cup just "KILLS". I am dead from the cute.
