FORTY SQUILLION!!! THAT'S RIGHT, FORTY SQUILLION !!!

Can you believe it?   SERIOUSLY?   CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??  WE DID IT !!! We REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, just raised FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS for cats and kittens!!!!   (and that's not even counting the auction money that's still rolling in and the funds raised by the other girls on the team!!!!)

Good golly, you could knock me over with a whisker right now. I need to gather my wits, stop sobbing like a big old baby, dance a little dance with a few lady-cats,  make a few calls, and I'll be back to tell you  how amazing you are for making this happen.    Please pat yourselves on the back, because you are awesome!

WE LOVE YOU!   THANK YOU FRIENDS!!!!

  4. What a way to start off a weekend! And I will note that the total when we went over the top was $40,000.05 so it was Opal's $1.05 that did it!

  6. Laurie, I am so happy. Today is a very challenging day in general, and this is a nice place to see that in the midst of it all there is kindness and generosity toward the very bittyest among us.

Forty Squillion!!!!!! Happy Dance, Happy Dance! That would be me. Kodiak and Kenai are less impressed and are both snoozing in the sun. I'll celebrate the good news with them later with kitty treats.

  13. You may love us, IBKC, but not half as much as we groupies love you!!!!! So Very Well Done. Keep it coming, it's not as if it's not needed even if it is more than 40 squillion!

  15. @Anonymous-

Thank you. Orpheus was a wonderful and much beloved semi-feral. I got the math wrong in my comment though- he was twelve, I'd had him for eleven years, seven of those as an indoor cat. He died quite unexpectedly yesterday morning, from what the vet is guessing was cardiomyopathy. He was a wonderful, dignified, and noble cat. I'm glad to help in the rescue of others, however I can, and it helps me to do something constructive in my sorrow at losing such a great part of my life.

Miss Kitty Fantastico doesn't get what the celebrating's about, actually (she's not even two months old yet and still doesn't understand why I take away her poop in crinkly bags), but if she did I know she'd be happy.

And I can only hope, as an also-dog-lover, that the puppies get even half the generosity for the Dog-a-thon that the kittens got!

  31. "To the victors go the spoils"...And I hope every kitty whose life is saved by the amazing work of this community live their lives fully spoiled! *tearful, joyful* My life would be tremendously boring had it not been for the little orange boy I brought home from Laurie's house 2 years ago. Thank you Laurie, Craig, Bean, and team for gifting us with the privilege of sharing these little lives and making the world a happier place.
