This is a Snuggly Bunch

DSC_0119
These Musselmans are lovers. All of them. Have a seat in our house, and within moments, you'll have a Musselman (or four) on your lap. They pile, they purr, they burrow under chin and wrap around your neck. They are happiest when close to a human. They're a snuggly bunch. Just ask Benny.

  3. You said, "Have a seat in our house, and within moments, you'll have a Musselman (or four) on your lap."

That sounds like a hypothesis that needs to be tested ...

  4. How does one find such snuggly kitties? My cats pretty much want nothing to do with us! These snugglers are the kind of cat/kitten my kids and I want, but have never been able to find...I wonder if the fact that you are home with them more than not makes a difference?

  5. aw, what an angelic face. I wish there was a job description that simply said "Snuggle kitties." I could do that all day long!

  7. When I close my eyes, I imagine that my Rudy Boy (our cuddly German Shepard) is a Musselman kitty. He plays along with it. He's handsome enough to be a Musselman, but I think his 80 lbs of love might be stretching it.

  10. Anon:

I think a lot of it has to do with socialization. My cat, adopted at eight weeks, was brought up in an environment of getting picked up and snuggled. Now, at eight years, he demands to be cuddled. If I want to read a book uninterrupted while not in bed I have to do it standing because he will be in my lap in 30 seconds, positioned between my and my book.

  11. Snuggly kittens are so adorable. My Paul Cat is a snuggle boy, and frequently tries to snuggle between me and the computer. Paul Cat's make better doors than windows, but the snuggly love is worth craning around to see the monitor.

  15. Whoo-boy, I needed a Musselman hit.

I just turned in Cloud the puppy I was raising for Summit Assistance Dogs. I will be snuggling my Toes & Marbles kitties and crying tonight....but this helped me smile.

Thank you Laurie, Craig, Drewey and Miss Charlene!

  16. Ann, I'm sorry you had such a bad day. I hope that seeing little Benny brightened your day, like it did for KBJanitor.
Yay for you, KB, your work with Cloud is so valuable! Do you plan to train another puppy soon? Keep us posted!

  17. Snuggly kitties are definitely the best. My baby is a stealth-snuggler--she starts out at one end of the couch and creeps closer and closer, and then she nonchalantly stands, stretches, and yawns... and proceeds to plant herself right in my lap, purring away. It's so adorable I can't bring myself to mind whatever she's interrupting.

  19. Oh, who is the lucky human with Benny zipped into their sweatshirt? I need a sweatshirt kitty...
My beast was a snuggler as a kitten, grew into a non-snuggling young adult, and became a snuggler again at the age of 7.

  21. Anon,, generally, fostered kittens are well socialized beings. By the time they leave our nest, they are always very comfortable around humans. Our kittens are usually snuggly. This batch is an extra snuggly one.

Aonon,, I'm the lucky one with Benny zipped in my hoodie.

  22. Awww!!! Benny has always been my favorite Musselman. It's like a boy band of Musselmans -- every girl has her own favorite. :-)
