  4. Charlene Butterbean is a 'cat about town' -- stylish, sleek. Everywhere she is is THE place to be.

I've only had (wonderful) stray cats and kittens before, so this is the first time I've seen a Birman. The immaculate white booties -- definitely dainty ankle socks on the front and maybe knee socks in the back -- are always a surprise to me with the Siamese coloration. But a beautiful surprise.

Charlene, I'm embarrassed to say that I have a crush on you! The fact that you have your moods, that you're sometimes naughty, and that some of Laurie and Craig's friends are afraid of you makes me love you even more! Stay mysterious, girlfriend.

  10. The Bean is one in a million. I have a teensy crush on her too -- she's beautiful, playful, humorous, AND she loves itty bitty kitties! It just doesn't get any better than that. But one thing I have wondered is: how can she type so well, with those big floofy paws?

  19. Oh, all true, all true, and I adore our Butterbean too (Evangeline is sleeping next to me as I write - she and her sister Lilliane are the ONLIEST cats I love more than Charlene Butterbean! And they love her too, because whenever I see her (especially when she's baby-washing) they always get extra cuddling --- it might be that THEY got her missing treats.........

  23. Oh, Patti, now that you've told about the Nancy Sinatra song, I have to tell you the song I think of when I see Charlene. It's a song called "Rock On" -- a terrible song from the 70s, but I've adapted the lyrics to her name. Brace yourselves:

Still looking for that Char-lene, Butter - bean
    Prettiest cat I ever seen
See her bathe all the kitties clean
    Char- lene!
    Rock on!

Bet NOBODY else remembers that song!
