A Sweet, Serene Drewey Moment

DSC_0484

She has her old-lady-cat cranky days, but she has so many sweet moments too. She's happiest when sitting on a sidewalk warmed by a day's worth of sunshine.

  1. What a pretty old lady. I know a lady isn't supposed to tell her age, but how old is she?

  2. Well, truth be told, I have my cranky old lady days too. I *love* seeing pictures of Miss Drewey. She's quite the Dowager Kitty, isn't she? Please give her buddy bumps from me.

  3. She doesn't mind.

She's about 17. We're not exactly sure how old she was when we got her, but she's been with us for over 15 years now.

  4. As fond as I am for kittens, my heart belongs to senior citizen cats. Drewey's captured my heart big time.

  5. As much as my love for The Bean is well-known (and now Twittered!) Drewey is the Art Garfunkel of the IBKC. So cute and a good posting screener as well!

  6. Drewey looks just as nommable as the itty bitties and the Bean (although probably somewhat less amenable). Seriously, she's beautiful, and I am so glad you posted some pics.

  8. Drewey, you're beautiful :)

  9. Drewey reminds me so much of my Summer. Old lady lazy, but knows how to put the younger ones in their place with a look or if necessary a quick swipe with her claws.

  10. you know, i think drewey was a boy kitty in some other life - she LOOKS like a boy kitty! Not that there's anything wrong with that. :)

  11. Such a gorgeous old lady. Brings back fond memories of our 19 year old tomcat tabby before we had to let him go in 2004.

  13. Drewey is THE Grand Lady complete with a beautiful ringed tail which she is so graciously showing us.

  14. She is definitely a fine old girl. I have a 17 year old torbie named Petunia, so I'm very fond of the old girls! Nice to see you enjoying a moment, Drewey.

  15. It's great to see some pictures of Drewey! I often wonder about her. She's a lovely little lady. I love that she's warming her buns on the pavement too.

  17. Hello Drewey.
Thanks for screening the messages and so sorry if they help make you feel cranky.

My girls are in the senior part of their lives...there is a special aura to all kitties of a certain age

  18. Oh, I adore her... Give her a snuffle for me :)

  19. Hi Drewey! Lovely to see another pic of you...you certainly are an elegant lady :)

My eldest cat Ella is almost 21, and she has her cranky moments, and avoids my other two cats. She now spends most of her days and nights on my bed (especially since it's winter here) snuggled under her crochet blankets, but I figure at that age, she's earned the right ;)

  21. I heart Drewey sooooo much!

I've got 2 senior cats & they are so amazing! I can see that Drewey is, too!

And, duh... I like a patch of sunshine myself! :^D

  23. I love seeing the kittens of course... but I will say I LOVE IT that lately you have posted pics of miss Drewey a couple times now. She is magnificent.

And the bean... we always love seeing the bean.

  25. Like Anonymous (and a few others) I'm also a fan of the older cat. Kittens are cute but i'd always rescue an older cat.
My beloved Gabriel is now 12 - not ancient, but certainly latter middle age! He came to us at the age of 8 and I love him more than anything (except possibly my husband).

  26. my beloved Rosie lived until she was 20, and she had a great quality of life until her last 10 days or so. in her later years, she could look at me with her big blue eyes and i would just KNOW what she was thinking. :)

  27. Miss Flora is only about 2 years younger, then. She much prefers peaceful solitude, but has forgiven me moving a teenager in last year (aka Monster Boy, Cicero). Hugs, gentle scritchies, and purrs from Miss Flora!

  28. Thanks for letting us know Drewey. Having Senior Cats is as much work as kittens. While the kittens are adorable and Charlene is a hoot, The Empress is the best!

  29. Aw, my gray lady make the same face. She just turned twenty.
