The Bath Brigade!

Thanks again to all of you for helping us reach our goal! I can hardly believe we hit 8K after just a few weeks of campaigning! Obviously with 24 days left before the walk, we'll have to raise our goal again. I'm meeting with Charlene this afternoon to discuss this matter.

I know everyone seems to enjoy pictures of Charlene interacting with the babes, so here's a big ol' set to say thanks!!

OK, kittens. Get in line! It's bath time!!

  2. Is that little Rho by Char's side, watching closely/trying to keep everyone settled?

    Adorable.

  3. So cute I can hardly stand it! The third one seems to indicate a couple of, dare i say, critics, pointing out particularly smelly spots. ; )

  4. It's Caturday bath day!

    Hecka cute.

  5. I have to say that Rhoda is one of the cutest babies I've ever seen! She's so round and stripey and has such a serious little face, and I want to nibble her darling little toes! If I didn't live on the opposite coast, I'd adopt her in a heartbeat!

  6. I don't like bath time at all.

  7. Oh my gosh Charlene is such a wonderful mom to all those little foster kitties. I am so glad that she loves them so much!

  8. Charlene is such a good foster mom. The kitties are lucky to have her and you.

  9. I've done a lot of fundraising in my time. I would like to recommend you bump it up to one final goal. Make it $15,000. Worst case scenario, you'll raise a whole lot of money.

It just seems weird to keep saying I need $2,000 more. Then, I need another $2,000. And again, and again. Make it a big leap that really stretches it and will likely take the rest of the time to complete. Just go for it!

  10. I love how the kittens dutifully line up for their baths - but it must be an exhausting experience based on the later pictures. What a great foster mom Charlene is!!!!

  11. I'm with Elaine ~ $15 squillion all the way! Woo Hoo!!

  12. I am so in love with those kittens! I don't know how in the world you get anything done all day. I'd be playing with them all the time...or...maybe they would play with me☺

  13. Is that Hubie walking to the pillows in the fifth pic? I can imagine that just prior to that shot Charlene finished up with him and called out, "Next!"

    These are so Darling! lol!

  15. Ummmmm.... love that Butterbean fix! Thanks, Laurie!

And whatever you choose as your next goal will be just right... 10 squillion, 12 squillion, 15 squillion... to infinity and beyond... we're with you!

  16. What a good step momma!

  17. Oh my gosh, that was so adorable! The look on Lucinda's face is just precious, like a cross between: Loving this and man, she got that place I can never get!

  18. I'm with Klein... make your goals, and we'll help you get there.

My dad says: if you aim for the stars, you might hit the moon. If you aim for the moon, there's no way you can get to the stars.

    I know, I know. It's a bit fortune-cookie-ish. *shrugs*

PSA: One of my (other) favorite and daily visit websites is www.freekibblekat.com/default.asp

Every day you can answer a trivia question concerning cats, and your attempt earns 10 pieces of kibble for a shelter! There's also a link for free kibble for doggies!

I know 10 pieces of kibble doesn't seem like a lot, but I like the idea that I'm slowly adding to a pile somewhere.

  19. I think that whatever total we finally reach should be divided by 8 (or whatever Ms. Butterbean's final recommendation is) and called a "squillion."

  20. Charlene is such a good 'mom'!

  21. Charlene, you're awesome!

Darin - I go to freekibble daily too... I feel so guilty if I accidentally miss a day and lose the 10 kibbles!

  22. That's so sweet. I briefy hosted a momma kitty and her two kittens along with my own kitty. Momma kitty rejected the kittens after weaning, and they tried cuddling up to my kitty, but she was all "Beat it kid, ya bother me."

  23. I see Charlene got the bellies good - I'm sure she also got behind the ears nice and clean!

  24. MS Butterbean seems to think 'someone' is a little filthier than the others.
(either that or she just tastes better) :)

  25. Charlene should train some human haz-mat teams!

I am so tickled by her love of every set of kittens! Her little heart is HUGE in the best way.

We humans need to take a page from her paw-book!

  26. Laurie, I think it's safe to say that we don't just seem to enjoy pictures of Charlene and the babes, we really, really do enjoy them!

As tiny as I know they are, they look even more precious and tiny next to the big floofy Bean.

  27. It is obvious that "kitten" is Charlene Butterbean's favorite flavor.
