What's All the Excitement About??

This weekend, the Darlings met a Dulcey, a sweet, well-mannered little pooch who belongs to my friend, Sarah. Dulcey was quite happy to meet the kittens, but the kittens were not so thrilled.

Hubey got the most worked up. He was a hissing little mister.

Rhoda and Lucinda kept a safe distance, hid behind their fierce brother, and did a little hissing too.

Selma was curious and came a little closer to investigate this giant beast. She poofed up and nearly doubled in size when Dulcey began wiggling with excitement.

Francine barely even noticed Dulcey was here. She just curled up on the couch and napped.

All of The Darlings settled down eventually, but slept with one eye open for the duration of the visit.

  3. Look at Hubey!

He's saying: "Stand back girls, I'll protect you!"

Those Darlings! They've got the spirit of Mountain Lion stuffed into their teeny tiny little furry selves.

  9. Is there anything LESS frightening than a puffed-up, hissing kitten? Poor babies.

  10. I love it when kittens get all poofy. It's hilarious! They think they are so fierce but all you want to do is snuggle them.

Dulcey, you look so sweet! I'm sure that the kittens would eventually grow to love you too :)

  14. Those are great pictures - I am sure the doggie was terrified (not). I love when kittens think they are tough.I am very impressed with the doggie too, for behaving so well - he was probably just confused and amused by the whole thing.

Oh, I saw you guys over on Cute Overload today - I hope you get a ton more pledges that way!

  16. Poor scared little things -- they think they have to protect themselves. I feel bad for them. :-( I'm glad no one was hurt though. And I have to admit that they're pretty cute.

Dulcey was a great "help" teaching the kittens how to POOF effectively.
