It's rare that any kitten is allowed to go upstairs. That's Drewey's domain. Because Neville was such a good boy, we let him do a little exploring up there while Drewey was outside napping on the deck.

The upstairs is just one big, long open carpeted room. If you asked Neville, I think he would say it's a wonderful space for a cat. The stairs are a thrill to climb. It's to fun snake between the rungs of the banister. You can run much faster on carpet than on slick wood floors downstairs . It's really toasty up there AND there are excellent sun spots for napping.

  1. The pictures of this bunch just keep on breaking my heart, in a good way.
Do you think that I'll feel that the next batch of IBKs is a bunch of losers because of the Lovejoys?
Not a chance! Bring 'em on!

  2. I wonder if Neville's new home has an upstairs. My kitties love to run up and down the stairs and weave between the rungs of the banister (and even walk on the stair side of the banister so they can jump down). I don't have any sun spots, but I do have a room I usually keep closed. They're always happy when I let them go in and explore.

  3. So lovely. My pair haven't enjoyed stairs yet. I wonder what they will think of them.

  4. Awwwww...Neville has such a great 'I'm a big boy' look on the first picture. Glad he had a special place to explore. Been thinking of the new Lovejoy parents and all the wonderful times they are having now getting to know their kittens!

  7. Neville looks like the king of his domain, er Drewey's domain that is. All his expressions show his wonderment at being upstairs, so cute! Unfortunately for my cats, we have a ranch house, only one step down to the dining room and that's it, so sad!

  8. What a sweetheart Neville is.
There is just sumfin' special about them Lovejoys.

The banister shot would make a nice card - sigh....

  9. Oh, my. What a precious boy. I can just picture him running up the stairs, sniffing for Drewey, enjoying the wide open space of her domain.

Our house has seven different levels, and it's a kick watching kittens learn to navigate them. Maren is part Manx, and I adore watching her hop down the stairs like a bunny.

  12. Neville has such a photogenic kitty. Of course all the Lovejoys ae photogenic. I love the first picture of him staring at you from the top of the stairs. My two cats love to go into my closet and one of them will sit and snooze in there. Something about the closet is what one of them loves.
