Itty Bitty Wally Committee

This is Wallace. He belongs to my friend Jennifer, and sadly, she has to find a new home for this precious pooch. If anyone knows of a good home for him in the Tacoma/Seattle area, send me an email and I'll put you in touch with Jennifer. Here's what she had to say about the boy...

Wallace needs a new, amazing home. He is a two year old, neutered male. He has a black and charcoal wirey coat, and is a possible Labradoodle, or a Wire-haired Pointing Griffon mix. He looks like an Irish Wolfhound, but lots smaller and with more energy. He is crate-trained and housebroken.

Wallace is fairly well-mannered, but would benefit from more training (as most dogs would!). He knows sit, down, wait (somewhat), spin, and will wait patiently for his dinner until you release him. He also walks well on a leash. He loves to fetch and bound around the yard with a ball or Kong in his mouth.

He gets along with kids, cats, and chickens. Not dog aggressive, but would do best as an only dog in the home.

Did I mention he is super handsome?

Why does he need a new home? He is not getting along with the two older dogs I have. He has been in fights with both of them- although not always his fault. But as a more dominant dog, he doesn't back down, and someone ends up hurt. Although the fights are a rare occurrence, it is causing too much stress in our household, and with a toddler and a new baby mere weeks away, it would be better for everyone, including Wallace, to find a home where he can get more attention and exercise.

He is a very active dog, and would excel in agility or maybe fly-ball. He needs an active person or people to keep him happiest. He can also jump a 6ft fence, so should not be left unattended in the yard for long stretches of time. Wallace is also fairly vocal, but we are working on that, and is less vocal when he is not around other dogs. That being said, he also knows how to chill out and cuddle.

He is a great dog, with the potential to be amazing. Please let me know if you are interested in meeting or adopting this boy. Also, please forward this to anyone you think would be interested.

Thanks
jennifer

  1. I totally understand, I had a similar problem. Just because he's not right for you doesn't mean he won't be great for someone else. I wish you the best.
