Josephine "Bunny" and Milton Ashby

Keeping up our long tradition of adopting out tuxedo girls with tabby boys, Bunny and Milton went together.

Since they've left, I've had lots of updates from their papa, Christopher. It sounds like they are completely enchanted by Bunny and Milton, and are enjoying these little bundles of energy and fluff in their lives.

No surprise at all, they are fabulous kittens.

  9. It's great to hear about the IBK once they leave home and become big kitties. My kitty Lena was adopted then returned before she was a year old because of "allergies". Now that may be true but part of me wonders if it was because she was growing up and no longer kitten cute and playful. I don't care if my cats are super-cute. I care about their happiness. A happy pet who trusts and loves you is the cutest thing in the world.

  11. Perfect indeed!
I was hoping they would be together as they reminded me so much of my ittybitty's Inez and Edward!
Wishing them a happy life together.

  12. I have to say, they do go well together. We have a 13 year old, black and white lady, similar to Bunny, but even more beautiful (you all know I have to say that; she might see my comment!). Our new boy is now 13 MONTHS and is tabby with white. Our magnificent old boy was black and white, but we couldn't bear to have another; change was necessary. All cats are beautiful anyway.

  13. There's something about Milton that just makes me melt. I love them all, all of them, all the time, but for some reason Milton just twangs my heartstrings like crazy. My boy cat Ole looked like him as a baby, and I had the same reaction to him when I first saw him. Well, I still do. I love tabbies, but there's something indefinable about that face, I guess!

  17. It's funny how you say that. When we adopted our kittens 2 years ago, we adopted a tuxedo kitty and a tabby!! How funny is that?!?

  20. Jason, I love this! "A happy pet who trusts and loves you is the cutest thing in the world." So true.

I hope to have a cute thing in my home by the end of this week. I'm going to adopt an adult rescue cat. I don't have the energy for a kitten! But your blog has encouraged me to make this decision.

  21. Thank you Anne. If you can, adopt two at the same time so there won't be any territory issues. If they're from different litters, they will get used to each other faster if one hasn't already staked their claim.

I think it's wonderful you're adopting an adult. Kittens have so much energy. Adults have some clear advantages like having their looks and personality set. I also think they're aware of just how lucky they are and will appreciate it all the more.

  25. This is clearly spreading! I ALSO adopted a tuxedo boy with a tabby girl! PERFECT pairings. Kairi (tabby) is sweet and demure and Vash (tuxedo) is crazy and rude! HAHA
