I've Got Some News for You, Rupert

DSC_0404
Just last week, Rupert met his new mom, Kendra. In the past, animals had always found their way to Kendra, and she had never been in the position of being able to "pick" her pet. So, when she visited all the IBKs, I think she was a tad overwhelmed by this concept.

After spending some time with the kittens, and getting to know them a bit, Rupert was the chosen one.

On Wednesday Kendra came back to visit her boy. Rupert was asleep in the basket. Clovis was next to him, fully alert, and completely charming. He just wiggled and squiggled around in there, offering his paws to Kendra, batting his eyelashes, and showing her his round little belly.

Today I got a call from Kendra and yep, Clovis has a home now too.

Rupert,, you've got yourself a brother,, forever.

  1. I sent Kendra your way and was so thrilled when she called me to say she was taking both of those little dudes! She's going to be an awesome mom to these cuties and they are going to have a great life with their big sister Kona, the sweetest dog you ever met. And of course their fabulous aunt Sarah. LOL!

  6. Oh, Kendra. I told myself if Clovis has not been spoken for by Friday, I would email Laurie. I am SO glad Clovis and Rupert are staying together, but it kinda brings a tear to my eye that I never got to say hi to Clovis or the other Ashby's in person. Sigh. Laurie, if you get an Ashby postcard set together, I will love you forever.

  8. This is wonderful. Clovis has been my favorite of this litter, though they don't make it easy to choose.

Will you let us know if something works out for Black Cat?

  20. What a sweet way for me to start my day -- oh, Kendra, how does it feel to be the object of envy from hundreds, all over the country? WE know, she'll forever be so glad Clovis ran his little number on her. Can we talk her into the occasional blog? It's free, and if *I* can learn to post pictures (hint hint) ANYone can!

  21. That is exactly why my fiance won't let me even LOOK at the foster care pages of our local Humane Society. Kittens are like Lay's Potato Chips to us - it's impossible to have just one! :)

  31. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your cheerful posts of "congrats" and well wishes for Clovis and Rupert. They're two fuzzy, furry, handsome peas in a pod. Angie's comment really nailed it on the head...I chose Rupert, and Clovis chose me. It couldn't be more true!!! I'm absolutely smitten. ***insert big cheezy, starry-eyed grin***

The thanks really need to go to Laurie for all of her hard work and GIGANTIC heart.

Now hmmmm...let me see if I can sort out this whole "blog" thing...
