Butterbean and the Babies

The boys LOVE Charlene. All three of them greet her in the morning by running up to her and rubbing their little bodies against hers. They literally swarm her. They'll settle down and sit right in front of her and lift up their chins and wait for licks on their heads. Trudy isn't nearly as smitten. She puffed up when she met her and let out a few tiny hisses. Since then, she's completely comfortable around her, but doesn't seek the attention like the boys do.

Albert is the one who probably loves Charlene the most. He likes to snuggle up with her and warm his buns on her fluffy tail. She'll tolerate it for a moment, but when it gets to be too much, she'll yank it out from beneath him and roll the poor little boy. He's quick to forgive. Or maybe quick to forget, because he'll try it again seconds later and get rolled again.

  1. I heart Charlene! She is such a special "mom" and those Livermore boys know how lucky they are! Little Alvie looks so sweet with her!

Trudy... well, you know some girls are a little jealous. Trudy, Trudy, Trudy... get in on that lovin'!

  4. OH my......you know, much as I adore all the babies, every single fluffy one of them -- Charlene Butterbean is a dream if there ever was one. OK now - at the risk of sounding whiney or beggy or something: LAURIE???? Can we have a set of pictures of Charlene Butterbean with the various babies? PLEASE?? I'll be really good, and Chanukah is coming, and Christmas, and Boxing Day and Three Kings Day and even St Lucia Day and all those, you know?

  5. That top shot is the perfect little sibling/big sibling shot. Now if only the school bully would walk by.

  9. d-h, And don't forget Thanksgiving, Veteran's Day, and any other day that Hallmark has designated card-worthy.

I love Miss Butterbean and her generosity of heart. And her family's generosity goes above and beyond as well!

Head butts to all da kitties - mature and not-so...

  10. Awww, I can just imagine the rolling. Albert, now don't you realize that a Magnificent Tail is not meant as a bun warmer?

It's so wonderful for the itty bitties to get some parenting from a cat foster parent as well as humans. Best of both worlds, I suppose, since they learn from a cat how best to own and operate the humans! :-)

  14. Hmmm...

Does their association with Miss Charlene make the ButterBeanyBabies?

  15. I've always wondered if the kitten's association with Miss Charlene make them "ButterBeanyBabies"?
