That Attitude Will Get You Nowhere, Orson Angelo Davenport

DSC_0578

Did he just flip me off? It could possibly explain why Orson Angelo is the LAST of the Davenport Family to be spoken for.

Seriously. No one has claimed him. Go figure. And truth be told, this boy has no attitude. It fact he's just a lovely little doughy ball of kitten sweetness. He's pure kitten gold.

DSC_0611

I think his lower lip is quivering,, it's OK Orson,, your parents are out there somewhere. We're just waiting for them to come by our way.

If you do by chance know of any fabulous kitten loving folks living in our neighborhood (Seattle/Tacoma) please direct them to the blog.

The other four Davenport are going in two pairs. Any guesses on who's going with who??

One last thing,,,
to follow up on Sue's kitty pic on the soda bottle... here's the article in our local paper. Congrats again, Sue!

  2. Orson.. the bestest is saved for lastest. They're OUT there, we just have to direct them your way! You are a most Darling Boy, and nobody I know could even TRY to resist your charms! =Snorgles from Marjorie, and purrs from Miss Flora and Mr. Cicero

  3. I can't believe this little ball of fluffy Love isn't spoken for. I burst out laughing every time I see his picture. Will pass on the blog addy to my aunt...surely there is a Forever Family just lurking around the corner.

  4. Hey.
Longtime lurker here. I'm a huge fan of this blog.
I think what Orson needs is his very own kitty profile like the Beaumonts (they are usually my favorite posts, very entertaining). I'm sure noone will be able to resist him then.

  5. I hope the twins are staying together!

  6. AND - how can can people resist the tummy pictures from the other day - seems that alone should have made him the first to get a family!

  7. I love all kittens I meet on this site, but in every litter/batch/kittengang, I see one that makes me go, "if I lived in Seattle, this is the one I would be taking home."

Orson is this kitten. If I lived in Seattle, oh, he would be fighting off belly raspberries from me all day long. Orson, you are my It Kitten.

Now somebody adopt him, already! :-D

  8. Oh Orson....

I am sure you were just trying to communicate that you have tons of kitty hugs and purrs to share with your prospective forever family.

I do not believe you were flipping someone off, but since your right paw is in your left 'elbow' I hope you are not using the other rude *UNIVERSAL GESTURE* (I am sure you did not realize that we humans have gestures that can be considered rude)

Sigh (I wish my TOes & Marbles would accept a new kitten, but I think the impending arrival of a pup is more than enough right now!)

....Belly rubs and chin skritches all around - invluding Miss Butterbean!

  9. Oh Orson, I loves you, honey. I wish you could be mine, but I'm far far away. I'm sure you'll find a loving family in no time!

  10. orson is my favorite! i wish i was on your side of the country.

  11. If I didn't live 2000 miles away...I am in love with Orson's furriness - and great pose there! I think there needs to be some more cards with this guy on them - I'll be first in line. I can't even part with my last set - too sweet to mail to just "anyone" you know?:)

  12. Awww Orson you cuddly lad you!

You'll find a home I'm sure and just think you'll get Charlene all to yourself when the rest of your family goes home.

I'd take you home if I wasn't so far away too.

  13. Oh and I would have thought that Orson would be going with Inezand the two tabbies in the background in pic 1...

  14. Oh, Orson - if my life wasn't in such a transition right now and I thought my cat would accept you, you would be with me forever. But alas, I am just not there right now. I do have you on my desktop though surrounded by pink to match your nose.

  15. Well, that makes me 3 for 3 in the last three families. Each time my favorite is the last to go. This time I believe it is because he is waiting for someone who wants a kitty who's at least two cats in one. He's got enough great features for two complete kitties, which means he's going in a sort of pair too.
My guess is: Inez and Chet, and Cecily and Edward are the other pairs.

  16. Shame on Orson!! Just because of that, you'll find a home in no time! :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh, my! Orson was my favorite of this bunch. I wish I lived closer... (although, since I say that at least once for every batch of kittens, it's probably a good thing I don't!)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Relax, dearest Orson - you are the best and thus saved for last - that very special family will be by to adopt you soon - in the meanwhile have fun with Ms. Butterbean!

Hmmm...Inez and Cicely, Chet and Edward is my guess as to pairing - just keeping the genders together. But I have been wrong many times before -
whatever the pairing, there are families out there who are in for many many years of love, fun and snorgles!

  19. me thinks the reason he is not spoken for is because people assumed that he would be spoken for b-4 they even had a chance. so now it's OPEN season on Orson!
    let the games begin!
DO I hear a offer of 500$ for the orson bean??? (just kiddin)
but really, a kitten who can actually flip ya off? that is priceless. i'd buy one.

  20. Orson is lying on his side while Cecily and Edward are sitting up in the background, looking slightly startled.

Orson has one arm crossed over the other right at the crook of his elbow, and one arm is bent up just as through he's giving somebody the finger AND another rude gesture. His face, though, is all pink-nosed innocence, so I suspect that one of the Tabby Troublemakers put him up to it and now they're faking shock.

The second photo is a closeup of his fluffy face and neck, and again the huge wide eyes and lovely pink nose. He's looking up with an expression of trusting expectation, knowing that his family is out there, somewhere.

  21. could you possibly sub this to cute overload?
this gesture would SURELY bring some raves and much attention to ORSON"S "bring it" loveliness.
    and purrhaps a furrever home?

  23. LOL! Got to agree with scooterpants... it's like the head cheerleader who sits home on date nite because everybody "figured" someone would have asked her out already!

Orson, you little cutie, you've got an amazingly photogentic personality... your forever parents just need to get on the stick and claim you!

    ReplyDelete
  24. What do you mean no one took Orson yet? I guess with an odd-number of kitties and people adopting them in pairs (which is a very good thing) I guess someone would be the odd-cat out. But don't worry little guy, your family is coming soon.

  25. orson is my favorite! he could flip me off every day and i would say, "thank you." why can't he come live in new jersey? why? waaaaaaaaah!

  26. Dear little one,

Your forever home is right around the corner. For now, enjoy being spoilt by the loving Miss Butterbean!

(I hope the twins are going together!)

  27. here, kitty, kitty, kitty. right over here, Orson....I want to nuzzle your little soft warm belly.

    ReplyDelete
  28. He's my absolute favorite of all the kitties you've had. I can't believe he's still up for grabs!

    ReplyDelete
  29. P.S. WAY TO GO, SUE!

  30. Awww....I'm sure it's an "askident", he's too young to know that kinda gesture. Right? RIGHT?? also - I am harboring, as we SPEAK! a wee boykitty who looks astonishing like Orson Angelo! (My neighborkid found him cowering under their car.) I took him to the vet for a VERY quick look-over (yes, he's a boy; no, he has no fleas, no earmites, little eye problem but not serious) and he's in a "private room" with litterbox and food/water. Lilliane was over by the door seeming mildly curious - Evangeline smelled him on me and hissed and spit at LILLY. May not bode well, but he's IN and SAFE and warm, dry and fed until his fate can be determined. I imagine Orson's forever people are just gearing up....

  31. Wow, I thought Orson would be the first to go! He's such a fuzzy little bundle <3

  32. Congrats to Sue, Tink (now Lexi) and Sherman! The article is fantastic, we have it posted in the breakroom at the shelter. Ya gotta love those two babies.

Orson, be patient. Your forever home is out there, they just haven't met you yet. If it helps, you have a whole gaggle of wannabe-parents on this blog! You are SO loved!

  33. Orson can move to San Francisco to live with me and flip me off.

  34. Stine is right, little Orson needs his own CV. I bet there's a great home just waiting for him and he'll be gone to his new life very, very soon!

    He's wonderful.

  35. Little fluffy Orson..if I was living nearby, I would have taken you home so you can show off your furry white belly to my cat Adventure who does the same as you every day..Then I can rubb both of your white furry belly.. I am sure your new parents are not far...at all ... and they will be delighted to have such a handsome boy as you are -- Jeanne

  36. Oh, Dale- Harriet, your own little Orson! Give those girls some time and you'll likely be very surprised. Your girls have never even thought of the possibility and it's a lot for them to take in of a sudden. I know it can work, especially with a kitten. GO FOR IT!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Finally quit laughing... my pairing results guesses are Inez/Cecily - Chet/Edward

Dale-Harriett - I have successfully intro'd a kitten in with 2 adult cats. My "A" took to the kitten in no time & he "mothered" her a bunch. He still does. Good luck!

  38. Well it's obvious that we need to move to Sea/Tac to live with and love Orson. Then maybe Mom will leave our bellies alone cuz she'll be so busy with our new brother.

  39. I think I just peed a little.
    That was so funny!

I'm going to be in Seattle Sept 11-15th for a pet photography workshop given by Cowbelly Pet Photography... if he's still there, I'll take him!!

  40. I only wish I lived in the area so this adorable little kitten could be mind. I love little Orson so much! ^_^

  41. I cannot believe that no one has adopted Orson! I thought he would be the first to go! If I lived up there my poor kitty would have to make room for another fluff ball!

  42. I suspect we will be seeing a picture like this

of Orson in about 10 months ;-)
