Please Forgive Me, Miss Davenport

DSC_0409

Weeeeeeellll upon further examination,, the kit with the mitts is no boy. She's a she. I'm sorry Miss Davenport, how could I have made such a silly mistake.

Now that you're a girl kitty, I know what your name is.

Ok Everyone,, I would like to introduce you to Miss Cecily Davenport.

  8. Oh Cecily Davenport!

What a name you have! Sure to have been made for such a princess - or at least a few romance novels.

That nose. It has me spellbound.

  10. Don't feel bad. Everyone thought my kitty's sister was a boy cat for months... until they took her to the vet. Her name is still Gus.

  11. OH so cute!

..and I'll guess that it's better than a boy kitty being mistaken for a girl kitty (self esteem and all y'know!). Lovely photo, Laurie!

She and her brother are very cute indeed. I can't wait to meet their siblings.

  18. LOL! Ah yes, Awen, I see that pose on the front of a romance novel about a delicate and refined young lady, Miss Cecily, who has just a touch of mystery about her and hidden depths!

    I like elaine's suggestion, too!

  20. My beloved kitty's mother is named Robert. . . . Cecily Davenport, you will no doubt grow up to chair important civic committees.

  21. I love the little "M" on her head! Great name, Laurie!

  22. *snickers* whoops, hi there little miss Tabbygirl. At least the truth about you was realized straight off - I knew a boy kitty who mistakenly got the name Endora, lived with a bunch of (already fixed, thankfully) girl kitties, and was adopted by a lady who thought she was getting a tuxedo female. then 'Oooops!' said the vet, guess what? *snickers*

That kitty's still very well loved by his/her mom, by the way. At least there was only the brief mix-up with Cecily, though! *cuddles the second cute little tabby*

  23. Oh my, these things happen. Don't take it personally sweetheart. I could get lost in your eyes. They have the look of a kitty about to take a trip to dreamland. And as your other admirers have noticed, your little white mittens are the perfect finishing touch. How fun it's going to be watching you grow up.

  30. We sometimes...GULP...make this same mistake at the shelter. Sweet AmyGirl (her full name, in honor of my dearest friend) turned out to be a boy, an adult neutered boy! The funny part is, we didn't realize it until his adopters were ready to take him home. The even funnier part is, they kept the name AmyGirl!

Welcome to the IBKC, sweet Cecily!
