  1. Sleepy Sunday indeed! Six sleepy Pettibones curled up and enjoying the lazy day dreaming of their forever homes to come!

  2. This is such a wonderful sight. We, too, are having a very lazy Sunday morning ~ looks like we're in good company.

Val, how about an update on big kitty Abby Girl? Did she make it to Vashon ok? I've been thinking about her all week. Thanks again for spearheading her rescue!

  7. I love seeing this sleepy sprawl of Pettibones. Except for Princess Agnes, they look like they dropped on the spot when their energy ran out.

  8. Oh my Miss Agnes - your eye color is so beautiful (at the least in today's pictures it looks a beautiful blue/green).

I think the last picture really should be the Pettibone family crest :)

  10. What a series! It builds from the first one with a buff boy in the center looking like the Brooks Bros.™ sheep without the sling (and not dead). Virgil is to the left being a dear little sleepy thing, and the back end of Rosalie is draped against the buff boy. Next up is Princess Agnes on a glorious pillow throne and barely able to keep her eyes open. Next, the buff boys are at one with their buff/pinkish surroundings looking a bit impressionistic, even though we know they are really only impressionable. Then come the Meezers; a profile of Renatta showing her perfect nose, flat on the tip which is a giveaway that she's had it "done". Virgil's pink jellybean back feet pads are right under Renatta's aforementioned nose. The rest of him is asleep on the left side of the photo.
Now I'll tag-team off to one of the other resident describers so's not to hog the whole post!

  11. Now see - proves up what I've said all along: CATS know where it's at, what it's about and how to DO it! You can tell they take their scripture literally, because that is SOME powerful "resting" going on. (Is there anything more precious than a pile of babies who have played themselves out?)

    NO!

  12. Sounds like a wonderful Sunday to me!

Shana...Miss Abby girl was taken to her rescue and she made it safe and sound! We sat and overlooked the water for the short 20 minute ferry ride to Vashon and Abby stayed nice and content the whole way smelling the nice fresh air. A nice lady and the head of the rescue named Barbara (from Vashon Island Pet Protectors) met us when we got there. Some tears, but all good. I got back on the ferry and looked back at her as she was heading up to the car and they drove off. She'll have her own room, until she's ready to be adopted. They have 5 acres over there, they are building a new sanctuary! Horray!
On another good note, Frank and Trixie (two adult kitties were adopted at PM today!) Good stories for all!

  13. Big YAYs for big kitties finding homes! Thanks to Laurie for letting us celebrate here!

  14. Yes, thank you Laurie! Such a good place to talk about good stories!

  15. Clearly it's exhausting work being a Pettibone kitten.

  16. Agreed, Shana and Val!

Supporting, celebrating, commiserating, sharing... the IBKC is very special! I'll add my thanks, Laurie!

So.... hooray for Trixie and Frank's forever parents knowing big kittehs just mean more love. And it was great to hear Miss Abbey Girl will have such nice digs. :-)

  17. OK, Laurie - admit it....you tried to pick up a back that had ALL the Pettibones in it.

Then you shook them out of the bag onto the bed and they decided they were all in good spots for a rest.

    Am I right?

  18. OK Chanter - here is the rest of the description! ]]drum roll....[[

The next shot after Anne's narrative ended is Agnes, still on her pillow-throne, just barely waking up and squinting at the photographer....imagine a thought-bubble "Wouldja get OVER it with the camera already????!!!! A gal can't get her beauty sleep around here!"

Then sweet Rosalie - asleep with her head toward the camera and to her right it looks like the buff boys. The one in back has a startled expression and his brother is asleep with his front paws in contact with Rosalie's cheek or neck.....VERY cute....

And last but not least....It looks like Agnes is still on her pillow throne, but she is now loosely curled up in classic kitty style (nose-to-back feet, tail tightly curled along back legs). Below the throne are one of the Buff Boys to the left of the throne and Rosalie on the right (front paws grasping the throne's ruffle) - with their rear paws and tails entwined.....

    >>gasp<< i am breathless from the cute -

    I hope I can make it to my bed.... }}thud{{

  19. There's nothing more restful than watching a kitten sleep.

Well, maybe there is: watching six kittens take a few zzzs! Makes me feel like snuggling under the duvet myself...
