  1. i know you feel all your kittens are special [and they are!], but maddie usually appeared to be very aware, with a gaze that seems particularly "present," or at least crossing that human/cat barrier with greatest of ease.

is that your experience of her?

    thanks.

ps: i once had 4 cats at the same time myself and each one was different, but there was one who was very tuned in to his human slaves. ;-)

the others, not so much, in varying degrees weren't as interested in us as companions. they also hadn't been hand-raised in the same way.

    you're doing a wonderful thing.

please give her a byebye-tickle for her tummy from a faraway admirer in south carolina.

  7. I would ask you to rub her softly between the ears and smooch that little nose for me too, as she heads into her new life - but if you did that for ALL Of us how love her, you'd be handing over a bald-headed cat! We'll trust her new people to deliver all of our loving in appropriate doses each day for the rest of her life.
(And to you? Blessings of the best sort, every day)...are you ready for a new batch?

  10. *hug* You did a wonderful thing in by taking Maddie in, raising her, and helping her find a loving family. No matter what, I believe Maddie will always remember the kindness you have shown her.

  11. I've been watching their progression from down here in Portland and have had to stop myself from bolting up I5 and snagging one of the cuties. I have one picture from this site as my background on this pc (the 3 sleeping beauties) and the big sleepover party at my work PC. :)

You will get more, won't you? I need my ibkc fix!!!

  16. All good wishes and prayers for a very long and very happy life in your forever home Ms. Maddie. I'm sending you on your way with many hugs and many kisses on your beautiful little nose.

Laurie - you're an angel. So virtual hugs to you sacrificing a little piece of your heart to save Ms. Maddie (and her siblings) and for having the courage to send her on her way. I hope that any loss you may feel is more than compensated for by all the wonderful memories.
