Bah Humbug

How can you possibly expect me to get into the holiday spirit without a Christmas tree to climb?

I'm sorry Hester,,but THIS is why kittens don't get Christmas trees.

Holy Cow! They're Gone!!!

Weeeeeeeelllll, guess what? We only have two kittens bouncing around
the house this morning. Georgette and Miranda found themselves a
wonderful family this weekend and now they are gone!

Lucky for all of us, their new dad is a coworker of Craig's, so we'll
be able to keep close tabs on the girls.

They're going to have a great life...a family to love them,, a big
brother cat AND a dog too! Most importantly,, they're staying together.

I'm not sure Enid and Hester have even noticed that they're gone yet. They've been completely preoccupied exploring the boxes of Christmas decorations I brought up from the basement. We won't be putting up the tree until they leave. They're just a little too curious about Christmas. I don't think I want the angel on the top of my tree to be Enid!

Kittens Gotta Climb

We don't have any of those giant carpeted cat trees in our home. We should, I know kittens love them, they just don't seem to work with our decor.

As much as I try to the discourage the kittens' urge to go vertical, I can't.

I made this tree for an art installation a couple years back. The kittens discovered it the other day, and since then, they've been completely obsessed with climbing it.

I did have to move the tree out of harm's way, and into the a closet. It was fairly sturdy at first, but with every climb to the top, it was weakened. It was only a matter a time before it toppled over, or they completely destroyed it.

Even though they were driving me crazy with their tree obsession,, I have to admit, it's kind of fun picking black and white polka-dot kittens from a hot pink tree. They just looked so good in it

Well Hellllloooo, Boys!

Hey look, everyone! It's Fergus Mayfield and Cornelius Bouvier!! They're all (or nearly) grown up now! Cornelius celebrated his one year birthday back in September. I think Fergus has his first birthday coming up at the end of January.

They're big boys now,, but I can still see a glint of the tiny kitten we all knew and loved in their faces.





Thanks to both of their mamas for sharing the pictures of your beautiful boys. It's so good to see them both again.

If you've forgotten how adorable these boys were as babes,, here are a couple of reminders. Sigh.

Itty Bitty Vampire Committee

Yes,, they look innocent enough, but I have reason to believe that one by one, these kittens are turning into vampires.

It all seems to have started with Miranda.

Innocent angel, Enid, was her first victim.

Then Hester's neck was next.


And now Georgette is really, really scared. (note puffed-out tail)

Because her sisters are looking awfully thirsty.

OK,, You Two Can Relax Now...

Enid and Hester Sue have been officially claimed. They met their new mom this weekend, and after much deliberation, she decided these two should be hers. They're not leaving right away. We'll have a couple more weeks with them before they head out the door.

Two down,,, two to go.

Happy Thanksgiving, Folks!!

For those of you who have been following this blog for awhile,, you've seen this picture before. It's our former foster, dear little Willamena Bouvier. (she's the little tabby holding the telephone on the sidebar)

Anyway,, I tried to photograph the kittens in their pilgrim costumes, but they wouldn't cooperate. They kept chewing on the shoe buckles and apron strings, so I had to re post this Thanksgiving picture instead.

I'm taking a few days off for the Thanksgiving holiday, but I'll be back Monday, hopefully with news of kitten adoptions.

Describe yourself in 20 words or less: I'm an angel right here on earth, and I have the markings to prove it. According to those who know me best, I'm one of the sweetest kittens you'll ever meet. And these folks have met their share of sweet kittens.
What are your hobbies? I love rustling around in a paper bag. I also like jumping in, and out of boxes.
Favorite toy: I love the feather wand. You don't have to wiggle it in front of me. I'll take it on myself.
Dislikes: I don't like being alone. None of us do.
Dream-home: I'm not fussy about where I live, I just need to be in a warm, loving place with a sister by my side. If we could both fit in your pocket, that's room enough me.
An interesting fact about me: I am a percher. I'll sit on your shoulder and keep you company anytime you want. You don't even have to be sitting still for me. I'll ride along, if you need to move about the house.
Minor Imperfection: My wings are a smidge crooked. I still fly straight.

Sorry, to post and run. I'm horribly busy and only have time to tell you that:

1. Enid and Hester Sue did great with their surgery. As always, it's like it never happened.

2. Girls still need homes. Please spread the words to any people you know who living in our neighborhood. ( Seattle/Tacoma)

Describe yourself in 20 words or less: I am warm, affectionate, and a little bit nosey. I just need to know what's going on.
What are your hobbies? I love, love, love to gallop about the house. I also like to pounce and puff.
Favorite toy: I enjoy a good mylar ball from time to time, but I think my very most favorite toy is a red pipe cleaner. I like to carry it around and park it by my food bowl while I snack.
Dislikes: I don't like being alone. None of us do.
Dream-home: I would enjoy a big open house with lots of room for me and one of my sisters to run. Lots of squishy sofas and warm laps are good too.
An interesting fact about me: I love giving kisses. I'll lick you as long as you let me and I'll purr while I'm doing it.

What are your hobbies? I like perching on shoulders while rubbing my face against yours. I also enjoy watching the human-folk scoop my litter box. It's just fascinating. Oh,, I also play a little guitar.
Favorite toy: I do enjoy batting at Charlene's tail, but I was told that's not a toy, so I guess I would have to say shoelaces.
Dislikes: I don't like being alone. None of us do.
Dream-home: I'll be happy just about anywhere, as long as I'm getting lots of love, and have a sister by my side. I doesn't matter which one, I love them all the same.
An interesting fact about me: I am the most vocal of all the LaBath girls. I'm the one who's crying at the bedroom door in the morning, waiting to come out for my breakfast. Did you know I have angel wings on my back too? They are just like Enid's, but they're in the middle of a bunch of other spots.
Minor Imperfection:I have hard time keeping my nose clean (literally). You can look at me and tell what I had for breakfast. I'm usally still wearing it.
Why should you adopt me? Two words. Polka Dots. Or is that one word? Polkadot. Either way,, I'm cute. And who doesn't need more cute in their life.

Strangely, none of the fabulous LaBath Ladies have been spoken for yet. These girls are going out in pairs. I just can't split them up. They are so, so close.
