Gentlemen, Start Your Engines

DSC_0005

On the way home from the shelter, they screamed their little kitten heads off.  It was ten very traumatic minutes for the boys.

Once we arrived home,  we went straight into their room, I put the carrier on the bed and set them free.  The SECOND the door was open, every little Loudermilk turned their motor on.

Purr, purr, purrrrrrrr.

They stepped out of the carrier, and with noses down and tails up,  they explored every inch of the bed,  and they purred the whole time they were doing it.

Once they took in every smell there was to smell, they began running wild and playing hard.

And once the rumpus was over,  they all settled down for a nap.

These boys wasted no time making themselves at home.

  2. Oh My God! They are just too cute! It is so good to see how well they adapted to their new environment. But, it also makes me a little sad, because that means they won't be there too long. Have they met the Bean, yet? And what is it with the basket, that makes all the litters want to use it?

    1. I agree, it's a magic basket. And its magic only get more magic-y with each litter.

    2. I'm lucky I hadn't quite taken a sip of coffee when I looked at that photo, or I'd need a new keyboard. Too funny!

Laurie: If you don't mind my asking, where is the bed set from? And is that a comforter or duvet? Thanks!

  16. What a lovely "welcome to your new home" posting.
I do believe Charlene may have a hard time keeping up with these young men!

And the basket - O JOY - the basket of kittens is delectable.

  17. A cute little story with its sad and scary start, then moved into the adventure part and onto the action, and slowly into the finish. Sleepy sweet boys in a basket.

  18. Oh my goodness, all four Loudermilks in the basket? They are TEENY, aren't they? But so, so adorable! That romping picture is one of your best shots EVER. Although it's not hard to produce great shots with great subjects, I suspect!

  19. Rumpus-faced Graham, indeed. I had to laugh out loud when I saw his picture!
Perhaps the cries on the way home were simply exhortations that you hurry along so they can get to your home - it must be all the talk among the kittehs at the shelter!
Sweet little purrmobiles - so handsome!

  24. Graham looks like he's stopping to breathlessly say, "this is the best-est place to be, EVER!!, before rushing off to continue his game of rumpus w/ his bro's!

  25. "Kittens know when they are loved."

I read that somewhere recently, and it seemed to fit this story.

Bless one and all. Happy Thanksgiving to the IBKC.

  26. You take the BEST pictures. I love the breathless look on Graham's face, with Ralphie on his toes (full of sass & vinegar) in the background :D
